I thought maybe I could have an RP of my own here. AT first its just a simple treasure hunt, but I hope we can start this treasure hunt and make it become something greater. Everyone is invited, elf or not. Please, invite those who you think will make this a good RP.

RP: Long Lost Island
Ancient tales tell of a lost island. An island where great treasures remained lost and hidden. An island full of unknown wonders not to be found on the continent anywhere else on Middle Earth. Ramur was the name of this island.
But this island was only known in tales. No living being, human or elf, had ever been on this island. None were sure of its existance. Still, many held a secret wish of finding this island, and laying hands over its treasures. And other simply desired to be sure if such island actually existed, for they were not satisfied with what was told in the tales.
And so one day, in the second half of the 3rd age of Middle Earth, a small group decided to seek for this island. From the bay of Belfalas, they would leave shipping near to the shores or Middle Earth, in search of the Lost Island.
In the small city of Iraí, Helleranin awaited for his companions in the Tavern of the Blue Ocean.

*you are sitting in the tavern when the doors blow open, a thin elf wanderer comes in blacked cloaked and hooded* hello is this the quest for Ramur ?
Isal Celebalda

*an elf steps from the shadows*
"Indeed it is the quest for the island of hidden treasures. Or have I also come to the wrong place?" Grinning, he said "My name is Isal, Isal Celebalda. May I be so humble as to ask your leave to join you?"

Helleranin, who was sitting down at a table when both elves arrived, stands up and greets them both.
- Indeed, this is the quest for Ramur- a bartender passing by listens to them and releases a huge sigh after listening to the name Ramur - and I am glad to see both of you here, although I only know the name of one of you. I am Helleranin Silvester. What is it you know about Ramur?
Isal Celebalda

*A thick man bursts into the room*
Who's the lads seeking Ramur? he demands.
*He sees the Elves huddled in a corner whispering and knows this is surely the ones he is looking for.
I'm here to join you on the worthless quest of Ramur. There is no such thing and I am only going to laugh in your faces when you get that in your thick skulls. I am Baron son of Bondor. I have sailed the seas since I was a lad and have seen no proof of Ramur!

Typical of humans, to engage in activities they see as pointless and worthless - thinks Helleranin to himself.
- Welcome Baron, I am glad to see that we have a sailer among us - says Helleranin with a calm and paused voice. - You never found Ramur because you never looked for it, you were always sailing with other thoughts in mind. A map was given to me over a year ago, a map which points out where Ramur is expected to be. With such map, I beleive we will likely find Ramur, and whatever it is that lies there.
Helleranin pauses and looks upon the empty tavern, it is early, and few people are in there. Baron stands still, with a sceptic look in his eyes, while the other elves look at Baron.

You should not waste your time. Instead, we should go to Moria and find REAL treasure. There are heaps of true-silver there! Mithril goblets, milthril rings, MITHRIL JEWELRY BY THE THOUSANDS! You will all surely die in this quest to Ramur.

OT - Nefmariel, that human thing was a thought of my character, you couldn't have possibly listened to it, and it was directed at Calimehtar. :P
OT number 2: I am presuming all of you here are using the same character in the RP profile thread
- Moria - says Helleranin in a mix of suprise and discontent - I have no interest in Moria, and not so soon will you see me mentioning a quest through Moria. Ramur, ah Ramur, that is where I am heading towards.
Helleranin looks straight into Baron's eyes, and then turns to Isilwen.
- You are very much welcome Isilwen, and you may trust us that we will not do any harm to your stallion.
- Is there anything else you wish to add Baron?

Momments later, they began to walk following Baron, who lead them to his ship, named Vanessa. Helleranin thought Baron's ship had something eerie to it, but he stiil embarked, hoping that no ill fortune the group and him on the ship.
After al had embarked, Helleranin and Baron talked bfreifly about where to go first. Helleranin showed Baron the map he had and soon they set sail.

*Baron noticed the suspicious looks of some of the others when they saw the ship.*
I can assure you, my ship is sea-worthy and looks can be decieving.
*They all stepped aboard the ship and set sail. As they were leaving the harbor the looked on all the other ships, there was one ship that caught your eye more than all the others. OOC - just consider this as the first day on the ship
The clouds darkened, the sun soon disappeared. What began as a nice bright and sunny day turned to grim day, with the dark clouds eclipsing the sun and the wind blowing strong.
A thunderstorm had formed as the rain began to fall hard and waves to grow high. Thunders were clapping in and lightning fell from the skies. Baron was struggling to keep Vanessa (his ship) in course, but it was growing ever more difficult, not letting the boat sink was already a great acheivement.
The storm lasted for half an hour and then faded into a weak harmless rain. The clouds follwed them until the rest of the day, and gently floated over their heads at night. It was the first night the group was going to spend on the ship.
They still didn't know each other well, but they easily came to agree that the storm having passed was a huge relief, and they had hopes no such storm would find them again while they were in the seas.
Helleranin didn't get much sleep that night, because he would often be troubled by a dream, a dream of distant and unkown lands, where danger was constant. Many scenes and visions would flash before Heleranin's sight, but he had forgot how they were in their details once he woke up.
The sun rose high and bright on their second day aboard the ship and a gentle breeze was blowing, helping them sail at the desired pace. Baron was in command of the ship, as the others talked to themselves, or simply admired the beauty of the oceans...

OOC - Yes, I struggled long over what to call my horse! His character is modeled on my horse in real life, and swift is an apt description of him. My RP profile is also sortof modeled on me.
*Isilwen stayed close to Linta, who did not seemed uneasy in the storm, but knew it wasn't an ordinary storm*
"I have seldom met a storm quite as fierce in all my years. Hopefully will I seldom ever again! I doubt we will reach Ramur without a fight, Baron, I suspect you tell us less than you know. But I do not doubt we will know all in due course... we all put our trust in you."

"yes the storm was terrible but now it is a new day. " as they all awoke Nef was already up and at the head of the ship again.
Isal Celebalda
01-15-2003, 04:39 PM
"Indeed it was terrible. Will this occur a lot?"
Ice Man
01-15-2003, 06:19 PM
- I hope not, for who knows what will happen to us if another storm like that occurs.
There was no storm that day, but the clouds arrived at noon and never left them. Not even at night did the clouds leave, and they wen't capable of spotting the moon or any star in the skies.
For the next three days, the clouds continued to eclipse the groups view of the moon and the stars and cover the sun from their sight. Rain would ocasionaly fall down and some times the waves would rise high, but it was nothing that even resembled the storm they had encountered on their first day of the trip.
Then, on their fith day in the seas, the clouds all went away and again the sun shined strong. And something unexcpected happened to them.
In the distance, Hellranin saw three white ships sailing in the seas together. They were sailing at great speed and appeared to be going in the same direction Baron was sailing. But the white ships were sailing so fast they soon disapperaed into the distance.

"Still, I am puzzled." Isal strolled over to his usual spot underneath the masts, in a nice shady spot. Sitting down, the confused look on his face did not disappear.
That night, Isal could be seen pacing up and down the ship beneath the starry moonlight night. "Oh Isil," he murmured. "What am I doing here? What is happening? Who is this Baron?"
Later still in the night Isal woke up Nefmariel. "My friend, we have journeyed together before. I feel I can trust you. What do you think of those ships, and what do you think of Baron?"

The group sailed for a few more uneventful days and boredom began to struck them. Helleranin became terribly restless and he no longer could sleep during the night, only being able to close his eyes and rest.
He would eften have visions in his rest, visions of what he beleived was Ramur.
But these visions were not al full of joy, happiness and wonders, he also had visions of a battle taking by, of weapons clashing and bones braking. It was indeed very disturbing, and Helleranin no longer knew what was to be found at Ramur.
On the eleventh night of the trip, they were again struck by a terrible and frightening storm. Baron did his best to controle the ship, but it was futile to fight the waves and the blistering winds. The waves would slap the ship and toss it from one place to another, and soon it became a great challenge to stand up and not fall. Years later, when Helleranin told the tale of Ramur to his cousins, he described that second storm as the world and the seas turning upside down in uncontainable fury and anger.
Only by a miracle did the ship not sink, but the storm teared the sails apart and no longer could Baron sail the ship. All that could be done was to wait and hope that the seas were nice and took them to firm land.
The next two days seemed to be countless centuries to them, as time was flowing slow, in a depressive and agonizing pace. The group was terribly uneasy, all were restless and disturbed.
It was so that, three nights after the storm, their fortune began to change. The three white ships that had once passed them, appeared in the distance. A quick as ever, the three ships sailed into the direction of what was left of Braon's ship. At arriving by the side of Baron's wrecked ship, the three ships stopped, as if an invisible and mighty anchor had been dropped in the waters.
On one of the three ships, a man appeared. Dressed in white and green clothes, he was tall and blond with a blond beard. He carried a long sword in one hand and held a banner in his other hand. The banner was also green and white, in the same fashion as the clothes the man was vesting.
The man came to the boarder of his ship, with a clear and loud voice said - Who are you, wanderes and drifters of the seas? Who are you who sail through the lost seas?
Isal Celebalda

Isal stepped forward, a faint smile on his face.
"We are elves and friends of elves, and we seek passage to Ramur through these turbulent seas. It troubled me that I had a faint memory of those fine ships, and did not know why. Now it returns to me."
He grinned, and said, "We have met before, when some friends of mine where setting off into the west. You were there, and I helped you with you preparations. May you return the favour, and help us? Please, Telethion, for that is indeed your name. Aid us here as we drift through peril."

"I do know him, though I do not know if he remembers me. Telethion, will you help us?"
Ice Man
01-17-2003, 02:38 PM
- Indeed, I am Telethion, and for more years than you imagine have I been sailing these seas. I do remember you Isal, long has it been since we met and never would I expect to find you here, lost.
After those few words, Telethion asked Baron for permission to join him in his ship. Baron, still upset with the fate of his ship, simply nodded and groaned, granting permission for Telethion to join them. With his permission granted, Telethion threw a rope down and climbed down through it, right into what was left of Baron's ship.
Once he was on Baron's ship and having greeted everyone aboard, Telethion began to speak again- My friends, you do not know how suprised I am to meet you here, at this precise time. I say so because my crew and I are also searching for Ramur, the lost island. Enough small talk. You say you need my help? What for? To go home or to continue on this journey?
- It is our wish to continue on our journey, but, under the current circunstances, we have to decide between drifting endlessly or going whevere you shall take us. - Said Helleranin.
- I see you are firm in your disposition to find Ramur, just as I am. Do you wish to join my crew and I in our quest to Ramur? Of course, such action will carry implications, but only later shall they be discussed. Do you wish to join me?
OOC - please accept his offer

I am sure I speak for everyone aboard this ship, we have not come this far, through tempest and unknown seas, to turn back now! Our quest was to find Ramur, and it would be a sad day when we are defeated. While hope lives, let us go on!
Isilwen looks at the others, who have become her companions on this voyage, and says If I know you all well enough, I would be sure that you will not be so easily defeated. Let us go on!

She had prevosly set out to seas on a small friegtor ship heading out towards a small elf colony on the SE shores. Her family was abord the ship and a few warriors. She would look out onto the seas wishing for a great adventure (and you know that the more you wish for something the more likely it is to happen). As she stood there on the deck, a shout came from the crows nest. "ANOTHER STORM APPROCHING AND THIS ONE LOOKS WORSE THEN THE LAST!" Suddenly the ship was in almost a tidel wave of darkness. The ship had already taken much damage before and could barely stay together. Lossen ran around helping the crew, but since she was still 100 yrs. younger then most of the crew they just shoved her aside. She grumbled but it was for the best. She could see the lightning drawing closer to the ship, one of the other elves brushed past her and bumped her into the black merky waters below. She sputtered tring to stay alieve. She grabbed some boards that were floating next to her and tied it to herself as to not sink and drown. She continued to watch the panic on the crews faces. Then suddenly a great crack of lightning huddled down from the sky, making a huge crack as the mast was struck. It was imedatly set on fire and cracked on the base. The crew swarmed around it to prevent it from breaking off but it was to late. The beam holding to the deck gave a huge sigh and started to fall. Slow at first and then quicker. She relized that if she had not fallen into the water she would have been dead from the fire and the mast.
She let a single tear fall from her cheak and reizing that it wasn't safe to stay near a burning ship she began to swim into the glomy darkness of the black waters. She turned around only once to see the last remains of her ship sinking. She relized that she couldn't have hope that anyone survived. Even for the crew that was a horrible storm. She swam away as fast as she could her quver of arrows the only thing she had saved. She couldn't see any hope for the future. The storm evently died down and she was weiry and waterlogged barly hanging onto the last bit of life she had. Then she looked up with her last strength and saw that of a large exploring ship (your ship). She gave a faint smile as she struggled towards it. She was nearly there when her strength gave out on her. She had let go of the beam that she had held onto for such a long time. If it wasn't for the fact that she was tied to it in such away that kept her head above the water, she would have surely drown.

OOC - Welcome aboard Lossen Vana, could you please post the profile of you character in the RP profile thread? Thanks. :)
There wasn't very much to be discussed, and so they all agreed onto joining Telethion and his crew. They only found some resistance when it came to Shadowfax, but some few gentle whispers from Isilwen calmed Shadowfax down and allowed him to be take to the other ship.
Once they were all aboard the white ship, and all their gear had been carried over, Telethion invited them to join him in the meeting room, so they could discuss the latest events, their current situation and their plans.
Telethion told them how that was his 3rd attempt to find Ramur. In his two previoous attemtps, he faced storms which were beyond description, and had to turn back and return to the shores of Middle-earth.
Telethion also mentioned how his crew found on the previous day a young elven maiden, lonely floating through the seas. Telethion asked if Helleranin or anyone else knew who the young elven maiden was, but noone could answer.
- So, let us talk about business now. - said Telethion - I have offered my ship to you, and I ask for one thing in return. - Silence filled the air, as Hellerain and his companions anxiously waited Telethion to continue.
- I ask that, once we arrive at Ramur, half of all treasures you find be given to me.. It is a fair price I say, for I saved you from certain death. Had you perished, not even all gold, silver and mithril in the world would have returned you to the living.
Hellerain was certainly not pleased with such demand, but he had to accept them, for indeed his life had been saved.
On the following day, Helleranin was standing alone in the ship when, suddenly, a young elven maiden came upon him and began to talk. She certainly was the one Telethion had mentioned, and she was pleased to see how quickly she had recovered. Before asking her about her ship and what happened to her, Helleranin asked what her name was - Hello. I am glad to see you have already recovered. I am Helleranin, may I ask you what your name is?

After all that she had been threw the other day (or phehaps week for she couldn't remeber much). She was shy and timid to approch. But it was understandable since she had lost everything that was near and dear to her; family, valubles, and anything else they had before they desided to make there move. She was glad to be alieve but upset to see how it carried threw. She didn't remeber much about the rescuse. She had woken up many days after she had guessed. For she didn't feel as tired as she was. She was walking down the deck, exploring this new ship she was on. She wondered were it was headed for when, an elf stopped her and asked her, her name. She assumed that he was her rescuer and thanked him. She also offered him her arrows (figurtively) whenever he needed protection as for her name.
My name means nothing great sir. If it matters to you so much, it is Lossen Vana. It is all I have left of my family. And I fear that I shall never see them again. It is a misrable thing to have an imortal life and remeber that for all time.
But the more she thought the more she thought how luckey she was to be alieve. And that even in there death she could still make them proud. A tear ran down her snow white cheak. As she turned her head away from the other elf (not being rude but from her pain). She then looked up at the sky enjoying the soft beauty of the white clouds, and seagulls up above. She then turned her face back so she could look apon the other elf.
If there if anything you need...(she hesitated for a second not knowing who she was speaking to her mind was still in a blur)...If there is anything you need. Ask and I shall do it for you. For I am in your debt great one.
She bowed to him in great respect. Then plasted a fake smile on her face. Waiting for his acceptance of her.

- I'm sorry for your family Lossen, but I must tell you that you have no reason to be in debt with me. It was Telethion, the captain of this ship, and not me who rescued you. As a matter of fact, Telethion also rescued my companions and I, for we were caught by a terrible storm and our ship wrecked. Had we not been rescued, we wold still be hopelessly drifting in the seas.
Helleranin paused and look into Lossen's face, who had blushed when she knew it was not Helleranin who rescued her.
- Still, there is one question I must ask you. Why were you sailing out here? Were you seaking Ramur?

Still inside, Isal had been discussing much with Tethlion. Coming up onto deck, he went over to Lossen and Helleranin.
Bowing to Lossen, he said "I know you have been throw much, but you are strong. I spent the night tending to you with my healing powers, and I see you have got much better. Helleranin," he said, turning, "may I discuss something with you in private?"
Isal took him aside and said to him "I know you are dismayed at Tethlion's high price for our rescue... but I offer to you my share of the reward. For truly, I am not on this adventure for the rewards. Not the material rewards, anyhow."
Isal told Helleranin of his quest (OOC: See my RP Profile) and Helleranin saw that indeed Isal was only on this quest for Ramur because he wished to see the new land and further his knowledge. Isal finished, saying "So you, as leader of this quest, may have my share of the treasure if you will wish it."

She looked at the elf and blushed a deep red. But when she herd his story she relized that he went threw much of the same thing and the storms over the seas had claimed much. But when she heard that he had not saved her she said:
I still feel as if I owe you something, so I still offer you my protection. If you choose to accept.
She smiled at him and paused as she heard Nefmariel telapaticly talking to her. She noded understanding her, not able to reply back in telapatcy. Then she turned her head towards Arcanjo. She was slighlty overwelmed by the amount of worry that the crew had felt for her.
Frankly I don't know where was sailing to. They don't tell you much when your my age. All that I know is that it is somewhere SE of Rivendell. We were relacting there due to some form of danger that was approching. But I do think it was an island. And there was alot of talk about riches.
She bowed back to Isal Celebalda and thanked her for the help. Lost at who was who on the ship and wanting to thank them all. She wanted to know if they would search for survivors but she knew it would be no use, fistly because they were all dead, and secondly because she didn't wish to delay this ship from there previous mission.

My name is Lossen Vana, and your horse is the most spetacular creature I have ever seen in my life! I even say that above the greyhounds my family use to own. Where did you get him?
Some of her greif seamed to fade being around an animal. And such friendly elfs.
The corners of her mouth turned upward as she spoke:
I hope I get to know you both better on this journey.

*Isilwen smiled at Lossen, glad that for a moment her worries were forgotten*
That's quite amazing, Linta has never allowed any other than me to touch him. You must be a very noble elf indeed! I think we will get to know each other quite well, this will not be only a matter of days to get to Ramur. And thank you for the compliment, Linta is of the descent of Shadowfax. He found his way to me, rather than I got him. He has been my only real companion in my life.
*Isilwen smiled and looked out at the sea, which was considerably calm since the last storm.*

She let out a smile. And patted the horses nose some more. Felling good to have an animal around her again.
I know what you mean about animals. They have such a calming affect. I really am glad you have a horse. Because as I said I lost everything on my ship. Including my dogs. Who have been my best friends for life. People of Middle Earth no matter who they are just don't seam to understand the type of bond you can have with an animal. No matter how great or small they may be.
She didn't know if she felt worse losing the family that never cared for her, or the dogs that she cared for her entire life. She wished by some means that one of them survirved. Expecially Mor Ros. He was always her favorite. And would always have a special place in her heart if he did die at sea.

Finally near the back of the ship was a coil of rope a few inches off the ground, she walked over to it and sat down then again sent the new one a message: When you get some free time from the others go to the back of the boat and introduce yourself to me. Quet ana nes rota (talk to you soon). Then she selted down in her coil of rope.

If only Lossen could hide from the crowds sometimes. This was really the first time she was in the spotlight. Before on the other ship she was treated like near vermin. She was getting use to it but still wished she could hide in a corner like Nefmariel was doing at the moment.

As she was talking in the group, I was reading her mind (OOC: look at my profile it says I can just incase anyone wants to argue, end OOC) she had been treated awful, and now that she was in the midst of so much, it was new to her, and she liked it, but she wanted to be able to hide at times....like me. No one had ever wanted anything much to do with Nef so this was new to her, as being in the midst of everyone was new to the new one.

She smiles and nods her head to all the others around her. She wasn't tring to be rude. But she was more of the quiete type and just wanted to get away. So she said good bye to her new friends and said she would talk to them during dinner. She then crept away quitely to the elf in the back of the ship, and let out a great big *phew* as if she had just been threw a battle with Soron.

Helleranin, walking through the ship, met again with Telethion, who asked to have a private talk with him. So they went down to Telethion chambers, and there he began to speak.
- Hellaranin, we shall find Ramur any time now, at least I expect so. Anyhow, Ramur, from what the legends tell, is a very big island and it will take us a long time to explore all of it.
- I know that too - says Helleranin - but I honestly do not have any intention of following your group and you at the island.
- Which is exactly what I was imagining. So, once we arrive there, you and your companions are free to do as you please. But I insist on our deal. Half of everything you find is to be given to me. Shall you decide to not give anything to me, I shall leave you little group and you at Ramur, and you'll be full of treasure, but by no means will you be able to use it and enjoy the pleasures of it.
- Don't think so far, we have not arrived at Ramur, and we have on idea of what is actually to be found. We can either find gold, or dust. Legends of old claim there are many treasures waiting for us at Ramur, but they also claim those treasures to be guarded by a beast, a huge magnificent and horrifying beast. In my mind, I fear that this beast is a dragon, but I shall only beleive it once I see it. I am very thankfull for your favour to us, but I ask you to not make plans so far ahead, things change faster than we thing, and soon it may even be you who is asking for my aid.
- Still, my words stand. If you wish to return to Middle-earth with me, you are to give me half of whatever treasures you find and take in posession. You may leave now.
Helleranin stands up and leaves Telethion's chambers, slightly ammused by Telethion's words, but not at all worried.

- Nothing great importance Isal, Telethion was just reminding me about our promisses to him. I don't mind it, but I just had to be a bit insolent, just so he will always have second thoughts before telling us what to do. - Helleranin had a small smile in his faced, as if everything was going as he had planned.
Helleranin and Isal talked for a while, and Helleranin explained to him how the legend told that there was a great beast guarding the treasures at Ramur. It was told that this beast was thrice as tall and ten times stronger than a hill giant. His fist was of iron and his punch could demolish a mountain.
There were also many other features that helleranin mentioned to Isal, who was half amazed and hald skeptic, for such a beast could easily dizimate a small army, which was much more than Isal and Helleranin had together.
That day came to an end, leaving only one other day between them and their arrival at Ramur.

OOC: What is up, dudes? I guess you can check out the three profiles of the three characters I'll be using this time. I wish I could use more of my characters. oh well. sorry I'm not a member of this *insulting adjectives deleted by me, just to be nice* elf guild of yours. I'm not a fan of elves. I am a fan of good RPGs, though. Crazy elf people with evil powers, try not to be too evil to these characters, unless you actually know how they'd react.
IC: *in a wagon that has been secured to the deck, voices can be heard arguing*
"Woah! Look at all the elves out there!"
"Be quiet, Boffin! You know how sickeningly perfect they are! You think they'll appreciate a band of outsiders like us? I don't know what you see in them!"
"Calm down, Trahald. They aren't as useless as you always make them out to be."
"What do you know about elves, Tolir? You, who grew up with northmen and Dwarves! Ha! Boffin can talk, but he's biased. I've actually studied them and done business with them. They're too arrogant and proud and indignant for me."
"Yes, sir. Oh, who's that? Is that Helleranin?"
"Hey, it is Helleranin! Hi, Helleranin! Remember us?"
*a huge, half scary, half harmless looking human and a simple looking Dwarf tumble out of the back of the wagon, with a spluttering black corsair of Umbar type dude groping out after them* "Get back here, you two! What? Did you say Helleranin? The elf that got both of you so friendly with them? Oh, great! Maybe he's just as simple as they are."
*the big dude and the Dwarf run up to Helleranin and start slapping him on the back and shaking hands and starting to remember the adventures they had together, while the corsair just stands back, waiting for them to calm down*

OOC - Glad to see you here Yay, not even I remembered RP48, I wonder what end came to it... :)
- Tollir, Boffin! I canot beleive my eyes! - Helleranin hesitates and almost falls down to the ground, as Tollir and Boffin walk up to him - Oh mighty, never could I ever expect such great surprise to happen. I do not know what to say!
- Ah! Don't worry Tollir and I know what you feel. How long has it been? Three of four years? - Says an excited Boffin.
- Four years and seventeen days. Now come, follow me, let me find a place where we can talk and tell each other what has happened to ourselves lately - Helleranin, Tollir and Boffin leave trying to find a place where they can sit down and talk. Trahald walks behind them, silently, but full of thoughts and doubts.
Helleranin explains to them how he happened to take place in such adventure, and he also remids himself of all the good times he had wit his two friends, decapitating orcs and fighting dark foes. Tollir and Boffin tell Helleranin how they ended up in such adventure and they also presented Trahald to Helleranin.
Trahald, as usual, was somewhat suspicous and had his doubts towards Helleranin, who was overly excited to worry about it.
- So you see my friends, this is all that happened to me after these years. Four years is never supposed to be to much time for us elves, but looking at you makes me feel these four years are more distant than my birth itself. I haven't aged at all, which is natural to me, and I see you are still i the great shape you have always been, which is good, since I expect us to find some tricky and sinister perils at Ramur. It is not by coincidence that it is caled the Lost island, for none who arive there ever leave the island with life, or so the legends tell.
- Yeah yeah, we know Helleranin, but don't you worry. There are plenty of strong people here with us, and we are not disprepared. And my clumsiness has left me behind, so you do not have to worry about me falling down in front of a cave troll or accidently shoting an arrow and knocking your sword form your hands. - Says Tollir, who in the past had lived some memorable and comical momments, thanks to being clumsy.
- It is true Helleranin, what Tolir says is true, and my axe has never been so sharp and my arms never so strong. I, Boffin the Great, am by your side now, and nothing will happen to us before we put up a good hard faught fight.
And the talked for hours and hours. Trahald, who remained silent most of the time, only interrupted them when he had some specific doubts about what Helleranin had done in the past...

At the end of the day, Helleranin met his companions while he was walking over the deck.
- Hello my friends, I suppose I must tell who are those who I spent most of the day with - his friends nodded and awaited for him to continue - they have been friends of mine for quite some years now, almost a decade, I figure. (OOC - they actually know each other from RP48, kind of...)
- We met each other several years ago, on what seemed to be an inocent quest through the northern regions of Middle-Earth. We went through some many adventures, which ultimately changed my life and who I am.
- The dwarf is named Boffin, a mighty warrior he is. He fights as if posessed by the spirit of dozens of dwarves and his axe strikes viciously into his enemies. The tall human is Tollir. He's one of the greatest men I've ever came to meet. Although he is quite clumsy and sometimes silly, he is not to be ignored and ridicularized. His strength is unmatched between men, elves and dwarves. The only one I do not know well is Trahald. Few did he say and few did I ask. Don't you worry, I will keep an eye on him, and none of his actions will pass unoticed my me.
- They are here for this ship for the same reason we are, they are after Ramur and its treasures. I do not know if they will follow us or Telethion once we all arrive at Ramur, but you can trust them. They mean no harm to us...

The general distrust felt towards the three newcomers never washed away, in part because it had never been easy for those elves to understand and develop a liking for humans and dwarves. Helleranin's stories did ease their feelings a bit, but, back in their heads, there was always this warning being issued, even though it wasn't necessary.
The night came on, and soon all were busy getting rest or silently distracting themselves. The thick dark clouds covered the moon and the stars and a cool breeze blowed over the seas.
It was dark and silent and Helleranin was alone on the deck. Ocasionally losing himselves in thoughts, and often looking into the night asking what was behind all the darkness.
As the night crept in, a deep fog formed arounf the ship, and soon it was hard to see a few feet ahead. It remained like that for hours and hours, and not even the sunrise made the fog go away. The day was grey, pale and cold, and it seemed it was going to be one of those never ending days, except for one thing.
At a given time, which Helleranin was never able to precise, given how grey and euqally dull and oppressive had that foggy day been, the ship suddenly hit something in the water, making the ship stop in a few seconds. Momments after the impact, the fog began to dissipate itself, and the view that was seen by all the crew and passengers on the ship was one they would never forget.
A few hundreds yards in front of them was this huge island. Widder than the eyes could see, filled with a deep forest, and after the forest were two mountains that touched the skies. They had finaly arrived at Ramur. They knew it was Ramur, for no other place in the world was even remotely like it.
The thing their ship had hit was another ship which, by the looked to it, seemed to have been abandoned countless years before that day and was slowly falling apart and sinking...

Felt the ship smack something. She turned and saw land. After the countless days and nights at sea it was a sight for soar eyes, even if it was depressing, to look at. She had heard stories of this land, and in her excitment feared it just the same. She wished her dog was with her at the moment, but knew that he couldn't have come on board. She then went down to the holding pens where she saw horses of all colors and sizes. Then her eyes met a snow white one. Large and powerful. He looked to beutiful and well kept not to belong to somebody. So she neared the pen and the horse reared and whinned then stopped and came to Lossen. After stroking the horse on the muzzle she desided to tack up and ride. She really did hope that the animal didn't belong to anyone. So once the wild stailon was tacked up she went out to the deck to ask if the white one belonged to anyone before she rode off on him to go explore.

Helleranin was speechless with the sight of Ramur. The island was vast and beautiful. Near to it's shores was one thick and deep forest, and in the middle of this forest was one mountain. The mountain was very high and snow covered it's highest peak.
There were still a couple hundred of yards between their ship and the beaches, and Helleranin was puzzled with the thought of how all those people on the ship would reach the island while taking all their gear and equipment. Then, just as suddenly as they hip the sunken ship, the waters rose just enough for Telethion's ship to free itself and sail straight towards the shores of Ramur.
Telethion imediately told his crew to ready themselves to explore Ramur, and then came to Helleranin's side.
- Do not forget elf, I will only take you back if you give me my half of the treasures.
About an hour later, when Helleranin and his group were all off the ship and on the island, the gathered and discussed where they were going and what they were going to do. Tollir, Boffin and Trahald had deciced to follow Helleranin instead of Telethion. They did have some unsettled business with Telethion, but that would only be delt with later...
Helleranin showed his companions the map he had of Ramur. It was a very old map, and its drawings and writings were blurred and erased in some places, leaving them with less to read and figure. Still, the map seemed to be accurate and so the group decided to simply follow the path which was drawed in it.
- So, we will sleep here this night, and tommorow morning we shall begin to explore this island...

Helleranin comes up to Boffin and sarcastically asks if him he thinks his companions trust him. The answer is, of course, a "no". Then Helleranin tells Boffin to "take things easy, they won't become your friends any faster than I did".
Hellranin then walks to Nefmariel and Lossen and tells them how they shall not fear Tolir of Boffin, they aren't double-crossers and they can and should be trusted. Helleranin also tells them how the legends and tales do mention a dragon guarding the treasures, but some legends also describe the treasures' keeper as a humanoid beast very tall and very strong, mightier than a dozen of trolls and another dozen of stone giants put together.
That night, Tolir, Boffin and Trahald slept besides Helleranin, who slept some few yards away from the elves.
They woke up early when the first thunder clapped and a heavy rain began to fall. The waters rised and waves angered themselves in the ocean, while Telethion's ship was took my the waves and taken far into the seas. That was it, they were all isolated on the island.
With the ship gone, many members of Telethion's crew despaired, whle other sat still and atonished. Telethion himself was shocked, but he quickly recovered and orderd his crew to follow him. Those who would not follow him would not be allowed to put hands on the most insignificant share of the treasures.
Tolir, Boffin and Trahald decided to not follow Telethion, for they beleived Helleranin was by far a better leader for them, despite the elves not welcomming them at all.
- Telethion and his crew will walk by the beach, first exploring the roundabouts - said Helleranin out loud - I think it is best if we simply enter the forest and try to cross it before arriving at the Dark Mountain. I beleive we will find our treasures in the caves of the mountain, so I suggest we head in a straight line towards the mountain.
Helleranin's companions agreed with him, so they followed him into the forest. From the inside, the forest seemed as a never ending maze of trees, bushes and swamps. The firest was so think and dense they could barely see the shy, and ever harder was it for them to find the sun.
It would not be easy to cross the forest...

OOC - Yeah, sure, there can be a dragon, but I hope you don't intend on simply slaughtering it ;)
- Isal, there is a small river that is supposed to come down from the Dark Mountain and head towards the beach. Perhaps we should simply find this river and follow it to the mountain.
Later on, when all were ready, Helleranin lead the group as they searched for the small river. It was a cloudy day, and an annoying rain was constantly falling. Walking on the beach searching for the river was not the most pleasant thing to do.
They must have walked for nearly an hour before they saw what they beleived was the river. The forest that followed the river up to the Mountain seemed to be harmless, and so they quickly decided to do as planned...

The fear and angry left Isal's eyes, slowly, and he continued.
"I am sorry for my harsh words, but... please, only ever use that word and it's powers if you must. And I must ask you: never again reveal the word or its uses to any other living creature ever again. Even Lossen should not know of it. May I talk wih you in private?"
Taking Nefmarial aside, Isal talked with her.
"Once, long ago, I saw one other who used that word. He saved my life... And he is my greatest friend. However... Later in my lifetime I was attacked my a similar beast and I used the word. Using it almost destroyed me. Only great High Elf like yourself can use it safely, and even then it could pull you into evil. I know you are powerful, and I know you can use it sensibly and safely, but Lossen and the others are not as well trained and skilled. I can never now use the power due to my accident years ago, and the others may be seriously hurt too. Please never teach that to anyone again, and only use it when you need to."

OOC - Guys, take it easy with the mid reading stuff, I don't want everybody readin everybody's mind all the time
Helleranin had no dream that night, or did he dream of nothing? al he could remember was that he was looking, but everything was dark and black. It was so dark has wasn't even sure if it were his eyes that were simply shut. All he could remember was darkness, and whisper far away in the distance.
On the next day, they continued to venture themselves through the forest and following the river, but the forst was getting thicker and thicker, making it increasinbgly more difficult for them to move on a hasty and continuos pace. And then, at any given mommen, the group began to hear disturbing noises in the distance. The noises were impossible to understand, but every now and then they'd become grunts that would suggest it was a spoken language.
The group stopped and hided behind some bushes, trying to reiman unoticed whle listening to the distant noises.
Suddenly, the noises stopped. As if they had never been maded, the noises disappeared form all and a heavy oppressive silence filed the air. Only then did Helranin notice that there were no birds singing or any other animals making any audible noise. The only things that was left for them to listen to were the tree's leaves slowly shaking and dancing in the air, the river's water running down towards the beach and some strange whispers and mutters. One could hardly notice them and by no means did they seem to make any sense.
As the group moved on, the forest grew darker and thicker and once again the noises and grunts could be listened to in the distance. And then they got closer and closer, getting louder and louder. Helleranin anhd his group tried to go faster, but the forest didn't allow them to do so, and son they found themselves facing the sources of those noises.
Helleranin and his group was surrounded by some two dozens of humanioidic beasts. All standing at least 6 feet tall and wearing some raged up clothes , furs and skins. In their hands they yeilded wooden clubs and maces.
The surrounded Helleranin and his companions and, at the command of their leader, jumped and attacked the group.

Pointing his bow at the head of one of the beasts, Isal began to sing under his breath, growing louder each second. When the song was at it's peak, Isal's companions were stronger than ever but the opponents were wilder than ever. As the leader, whose head Isal had calmly pointed the bow at, charged towards Isal. As the song reached a cresendo, he loosed the arrow. It spun through the air, ignited by a holy white light and upon impacted the beast was killed and utterly destroyed. Rolling back behind the bush Isal panted. He would not have the strength for any more magic, it was time to fight dirty. Jumping out with his knife, he began to attack.

The humanoid woke up half an hour after the fight was ended up with. He was tied by his legs and arms and he was lying down inside the wagon. He opened his eyes to see Trahald and Tolir sitting right next to him. When he tried to lift himself up, Tolir simply pushed his axe against the humanoid's chest in a clear indication that he, the humanoid, was not free to move and leave according to his will.
- So I see the humanoid has woken up. Good. He might posess valuable information to us. Bring him here outside Tolir, where all of us can see him and question him.
Tolir took the humanoid outside and all got to see him. He was tall and strong, and posessed many features common to humans, but his skin was almost entirely covered with a thick brown fur. His head was very big and grotesque, compared to the head of a human, his eyebrows and hair were very dark and his ears very big. He was wearing nothing but some animals skins around his waiste and a rudimental leather belt.
The humanoid was oddly quiet, as if he was observing and analyzing the environment and newcommers around him. Suddenly he began to scream and grunt, very loudy and very agressively, struggling to tear the rops and set himself free.
Helleranin did not hesitate and put his knife against the humanoid's neck. No words needed to be spoken, as the humanoid perfectly understood what Helleranin's knife could do to him.
With the knife still against the humanoid's neck, Helleranin calmly asked "what is your name?". In the middle of all the grunts and mumbles that came as an answer, Helleranin understood that the humanoid's name was Gruntuck.

OOC: ok where are you all at right now?
Bethelarien
02-06-2003, 03:10 PM
Hearing Nef's question to Isal, Bethelarien turned. "No, he hasn't told me about them. Why, is there something I should know?"
Isal Celebalda
02-06-2003, 04:27 PM
As Isal looked back at Beth, he too saw the changes in her, but he was not sad. He was glad that the two of them had gone their own ways for it made their joy now ever greater.
Answering the question, Isal said "We only know that they seem a bit shifty. Boffin and Tolir seem ok, but we're not too sure about Trahald. He's their leader, and he doesn't exactly radiate honesty... but to be honest we have no real reason not to trust them. After all, Trahald and the gang did give us that captive for questioning."
Looking at Nef, Isal continued "...but really Nef is the expert on these guys. She's the one who has the power to look into thoughts, so she's our only way of knowing what those three are up to."

OOC: We're on Ramur just pretend to come riding up on us or something etc.
IC: "Yes boffin seems to think about food alot but the leader is a bit shifty I don't trust him as I do the others but you may think what you wish"
Lossen Vana

Looks back over her shoulder towards the others. She would have liked to have gone back and met them but she was too preocupied with the humaniod, so in thought:
Hello my name is Lossen. I'm sorry that I can't meet you in person now but as you can see I'm alittle preocupied. Maybe later on we will get a chance.
Bethelarien
02-06-2003, 06:48 PM
"Though I trust your judgement, both of you, I will give them a chance. I do not wish to be judgemental before I get to know someone. That is not giving them a fair chance." Bethelarien looked at the three by the wagon. "Though they do not look very trustworthy."

Nefmariel
02-06-2003, 09:40 PM

LegolasLuver

Lossen Vana
02-07-2003, 03:36 AM
She smiles, but cringes at the word girl, yes she was only 214 years old, but she could hold her own. She sighed then held her blade closer to the humaniod waiting for anwsers.

02-07-2003, 04:41 AM

As night falls we start a fire and take a break. I go away from the group as usual and sit next to Tresta and a tree.
LegolasLuver
02-08-2003, 01:50 AM
*i sit gazing into the fire and take a bite of Lembas*
Bethelarien
02-08-2003, 02:04 AM
Bethelarien sat next to Isal, and the two talked quietly together. As the night grew deeper, darker, and somewhat chilly, Bethelarien was glad for the warmth of the fire. She hated being cold. Thinking this drew her thoughts home to Rivendell, and her father. Something deep inside of her stirred, and she raised her voice in a song she had learned long ago. The melody rose and filled the camp, and all heads turned to her.
Lossen Vana
02-08-2003, 03:38 AM
Lossen now sat peacfully by herself. It was night and it was no use gaurding the creature till day, so she walked over to where the others were and sat down.
Hi.

02-08-2003, 04:25 AM
*noticing most of the elves getting bored with the savage, Trahald orders Boffin and Tolir to get it back in the wagon and watch it, when they're done with that, Trahald placates them with promises of gourmet food, then walks over to the nearest elf (whoever shows up first, I guess)* "Greetings. My name is Trahald. I don't believe I know you. Well, forgive me for being forward, but I'd kind of like to get to know the elves I'll be stuck with on this island for a while."
Nefmariel
02-08-2003, 05:01 AM
" What do you want Tralhad?" I say turning to him frowning.
YayGollum
02-08-2003, 10:39 PM
"Oh, you didn't hear me? I said that I would like to get to know you. I don't know why you wouldn't be able to understand that. Ah, well. I've introduced myself. You don't seem interested in talking. I happen to have noticed that most of my fellow treasure seekers are being a little distant. Why is that? Have we done something offensive?"
Nefmariel
02-09-2003, 05:59 AM
"Ok, sorry just...nevermind, so what is it you want to know" I then send a message to Lossen, and Lai: Guys I'm going to play along with Tralhad, do you think that is wise? Tell me what you think when I'm done talking with him
Lossen Vana
02-09-2003, 06:15 PM
I don't know if it is wise or not but, if he dose anything stupid he will have his arrow in his back.
She readys an arrow in her bow, and aimed it a Treyar as she his in a tree hidden to the most keen eyes.

*Isilwen sits against a tree and watches all the others. She does not know quite what to make of the new elves, and wonders why she started this in the first place. Linta senses her unhappiness and walks away from the other horses over to her, gently playing with her hair between his lips.*

OOC - Sorry for taking so long guys, my PC here at work crashed and I'm teaching at an English school (yay! for me), so I didn't have much time or energy left to post from home. I'm glad that we have two newcommers, I just ask you to scan through the thread so you can pick up all the important stuff we've done so far.
PS: wow, what a big OOC comment
:)
Gruntuck was extremly nervous with the situtaion and the way he was caught in it, he had done nothing than defend his land, his territory, and yet he was treated as a worthless animal that had no rights in that land. He was disgusted with those people and promissed to himself that he would make things turn his way, no matter what it took.
Gruntuck answered the question is his own language, which seemed to be a distant and almost grotesque evolution of the common tounge. Very few words did the group understand, and often did they findthemselves trying to find missing words and understand new words.
However, the group did understand Gruntuck and his family (they were all his family to him) had been living there for many "winters", which m could have been anything in between five hundred and five thousand years. The group did not understand how those humanoids arrived at that island, all they could understand was that the humanoids were there at that island before it even was an island, but that was another thing they did not know how to understand.
They also understood that Gruntuck claimed to have attacked them only because he was defending his territory.
He made no menton about any treasure, but he did speak about a beast. A huge best that lived deep in the island and tormented them for ages. He said this beast would come out and capture some of his people, and return to his lair, where the captives were never again to be seen. Gruntuck could lead them to this beast's lair, but he was not found of such idea.
It took very long so they could understand all Gruntuck said, and more than two hours were consumed in Gruntuck's interrogation.
Helleranin was puzzled with all that was said, but the idea of having Gruntuck take them to this beast's lair seemed to be fine with him. So Helleranin turned to his friends and asked - Who here thinks we should allow Gruntuck to lead us towards this beast's lair and have him aid us in this quest?. Speak now before I make my mind.
OOC 2 - the telepaths cannot read Gruntuck's mind, because he is entirely different than most living and thinking forms of life at Middle-Earth. The most that can be done is to sense his emotions and primal thoughts, such as anger, anxiety and hunger.

In thought to Arcanjo.
Even though I don't trust him, I think he may speak truth about leading us to the beast. He will benifit in m
