Might I say that this is a very good idea, Glorfindel. This will help to clear up the main thread (which I think you should pm a mod to get stickied;)) so if anyone has any DIRECT problems with the guild or questions they can ask on that thread and things wont get mixed up.

I'd like to make a new thread for the new guildmembers, especially the new house of Hollin. All the other houses have one so far.

Yes it will be done again soon, I just don't like to change the ranks and then all of a sudden we get another new member, but what do you mean start a thread for the group of Hollin? The other groups do not have their own threads.....I'm a bit lost on what your idea is....

There is none! there are no threads for each group! ohhh are you guys referring to the RP's that have Harad and Rhun after them? If so, those are not for specific groups, anyone in the guild can take part in those. Read the RP overview thread for a review of those RP's (they are actually one RP in 2 parts.)

I was wondering if I could start a thread asking who everyone's favorite elf is and why. I know that there is a thread kind of like this somewhere else in the forum but I thought that this might be a place for the members of this guild to go more in depth into why these characters are your favorites.

Go right ahead Carantalath, I like that idea, just make sure that you put in your first post that you would like a thorough explanation with good reasons of why the Elf is there favorite, I only tell you to do that because I don't want everyone saying that Legolas is their favorite because they think he's hot, that drives me insane!:rolleyes:

I would like to enquire if a new rp is going to be started soon. I think it is a good idea to do so for the new members (since I'm such one) . It doesn't mean that it should be very difficult. On the contrary, it shouldn't be. I have now tried to start participating in the Harad rp and the Long Island. However, I would be much more delighted if I have the honour to take part from the beginning of a rp.
So my point is that each month or two we can start such an aesy rp (which rps might later get more and more difficult) and when the period of one ( 1-2 months) is over it would be deleted and another one will be created.
What do you think?

Every line and speech should be in rhymes. It would be more for entertainment but later we might complicate them, the rps I mean and they might even become works of art.:rolleyes: :)

Well I guess it works as long as people realize which RPS are ongoing and which are monthly...you do not want people trying to rap up Rhun for instance in a month...i like the rhymed one...It could be neat Dr suess is my hero.

BTW, that's not really an RPG. An rpg is when you "act", and you stay in character. What you mentioned is a game, and doesn't really go in our guild/forum.

What if the game is Elf related? I would like to start a game called "Which Elf am I" I would say something like "I was in the fellowship" and someone would answer "Legolas" and go next. Would be a good way to learn more about the Elves as no doubt some of the posts will be hard.

OK, just figured I should bring it up that we need to think of a new RPG to start once Harad/Rhun is done. And have a totally different plot than "The Journey of Middle Earth" and the "Harad/Rhun" RPGs because they were really about the same plot.

I have opted to join this guild some 10 minutes ago, but whether or not I am accepted, I would like to suggest one idea that I have found quite fun in my Guild (The Evil Guild). It is a game that involves taking turns, where one person starts off with a Riddle in the form of Poetry, preferably related to the Guild, and other people must attempt to guess who/what he/she/it is. This is an example (Written by me):

There was no evil being at first
But slowly grew a hidden thirst
And in our hearts a darkness grew
Evil was defiling all that we knew
We were then aware of an evil presence
That drove out from our minds good sense
It took control of all our wills
And with evil it forever fills
And so are we not ever free
To do a thing but kill, Nothing more.
Now we are evil, right to the core
Though very numerous we most certainly are not
We love only to see things rot
With bodies so vast and powers so great
We kill with fire and dement with hate
And nothing good have we done so far
Just try and start guessing that which we are!

Okay, so, like... I've got another thought.

1) Why don't you delete the threads that people posted without approval? (Has anyone here given themselves elvish names? and threads).

2) Why not reopen the thread by Estel Has anyone here given themselves elveish names? It has everything to do with Elves, as the subject is of there languages, and it is also a potentially good and fun thread... You know, for people to talk about the things they've done with Quenya, Sindarin, etc.. I myself would very much enjoy doing so, as I have been doing much of that very thing, and would more than like to share my work with people. It is a source of enjoyment and relaxation for me, and I would imagine that it would be so for others, too.

Just trying to be productive, here... Not many up-to-date threads to post on in this Guild.

For two, the problem was that they did not ask permission to start threads. If you wish to start a thread (i.e. a language one), you have but to ask permission.

Well, that's what I was doing now... Asking permission for a thread, though since there already is one that's just locked, I asked that it be unlocked. If it's easier on others, I can just start a new thread about that... It just seems kind of pointless if there's a duplicate.

As I cannot reopen the thread, I would suggest that you start a new one, but with a broader subject heading. Something more about discussions on the Elvish languages, that way everything that has to do with them can be included in the thread.
