Do you mean Maglor, the second son of Feanor? He was very much an Elf. The Maia Melian is the closest name that comes to mind for "Mealos". I just finished checking the indices of The Sil, UT and LOTR, and then checked The Encylcopedia Of Arda (http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/) and I'm still not sure who you are talking about. Some sort of context would help enormously.
