I remember in the book, the battle at gondor was so much longer than Helms deep. I expect it to be much better but yet, not as good. in a sense that helms deep was at night and right b4 the battle thunder and lightning happened then rain fell. I thought that was genious. I can not remember if that was in the book or not. But what do you guys expect to be in the battle at Minas Tirith?

It was in the book.
As long as they give Aragorn his spectacular entrance to the battle it wil good to me.

I think Aragorn will get a big etrance, then they'll make the part where Theoden dieing and Eowyn killing the nazgul really dramatic.
I hope they keep the heads catapulted into the city, that would be such a treat to the book fans. Some people might be like, "Oooooo, gross, heads!" But the book fans will just be like, "Yes!"

I don't think they'll keep that, I think too many people would think that gross. But it would be kind of fun if they did...

I think it would be great to have heads flying over the walls!!!!!!! It would be just like PJ adding extra action to TTT to better please the audience, the nonLOTR audience, that is! I am really looking forward to Eowyn killing the Nazgul... that was one of my favorite parts....

There are things in the book that are better left out of the movie, and I think flying heads are one of those things. :) But if they change one letter of the Eowyn-Nazgul scene I will really be disappointed, it was my favourite part and they should NOT screw it up!

My single favorite part of the animated ROTK film (besides the way that Gandalf mispronounces Cirth Ungol ;)) is the way that the film showed Grond battering the gate of Minas Tirith. I really hope that the leave it in. I also love the forces of Gondor invoking the Valar as they attempt to battle the Oliphaunts.

I hope you guys knew I was joking about the flyoing heads, I don't approve of all of the things done to please the non LOTR audience. And about Grond, I'm really looking forward to that. I read in The Making of the Movie Tilogy about haw they would make Grond. They said he would kind of move by himself, and his eyes would glow red and stuff. I just hope it doesn't look too fake.

Whats so wrong with the heads being thrown over the walls? It will be a nice image of just how brutal war is, and even more so how evil Sauron's forces really are.
I'm looking forward to it.
They need the heads. And they need to do it like in the book. All the Gondorians see is objects flying over the walls and then one of them should pick one up to see that it's a head.

Don't build your expectations up too high about what you REALLY want to see in RotK. If PJ has shown anything at all, he's shown that he'll change ANY part of the story if he thinks he can "improve" it.
Shoot, Merry may not make the ride, somebody else may kill the Witch-king, or 10,000 dwarves may suddenly arrive by boat.
I'll take what's behind door number 2 Monty.**

One thing I am expecting is for the colour palate to be slightly different to Helm's Deep - HD in PJ's little project uses a blue/black palate, giving an impression of a cold, wet battlefield - yet compare this to the red/grey palate used for Osgiliath.
This red/grey mixture is what I think we'll see with Pelanor Fields - giving the impression of the battle taking place in a warmer climate and also where the fires of Mordor are spreading, rather than a sort of cold/dark mountainous feeling.

Only problem is, I can't see how they're going to keep the film PG13 ( or M in Australia ) if they're going to be showing heads being thrown over the walls. A bit too gory and brutal for a film that doesn't have a more adult rating, perhaps.

they better have flying heads in at least the EE of RotK...I loved them heads in the book. I enjoyed the fighting against the oliphants. I hope there is a distinct look for the Harad chieftan (i think that's who it was). I hope Imrahil is in it, even just if there visually and not even a minor character.
All in all, i want a better battle than helm's deep, and i expect it to be...
