more of a future than a history, but i felt this is the best place for it...

...anyway Dwaves die (obviously) and are collected by Aule and set aside etc, and after the last battle they will help Aule to rebuild Arda, right, but do they fight in the last battle? or is the Last Battle kind of sacred to only Men, Elves the children of Ilúvatar? and also Valar and Maia. So do they add a much needed boost of numbers and strength (sp) to the "Goodies" side? or does Ilúvatar hold them back from helping?

I am split into two minds on it

1) They are allowed and add much needed strength to the righteous side and help with a victory of much renown!

...or...

2) They are not allowed as the battle is sacred to only the Children of Ilúvatar and the Valar and Maia, etc!

post any thoughts thanx

I had a question. I'm fairly new to the History of Middle Earth Series and was wondering where I could read about this "Last Battle" Is it in a book or what? Please help me. It sounds really interesting.

There is no occurence of a narrative form of the Last battle or 'Dagor Dagorath', but it is mentioned in several HoME books, inlcuding HoME 5 (Second prophecy of Mandos) and HoME 10, and the Silmarillion.

If I'm not mistaken, the Dagor Dagorath was a concept that Tolkien abandoned later in his life, so it is not considered canon.

I don't know that much about the Dagor Dagorath but I believe that the Dwarves were adopted by Eru as his children so i believe they would be able to fight on his side.

I agree with Celebethil. The forces of good would need all of thier might in the Last Battle. Being adopted by Illuvitar is a good way to put it.
