ive just started the Book of lost Tales 1, and in the first chapter, where Eriol arrives in Tol Eressea and comes to the cottage of lost play, Vaire tells him about the Path of Dreams ("Olore Malle")
that leads to a village of Men...

how can this be??

i think some of them are elves (like that "littleheart" guy, and vaire and..the other one..:D)
but i think the children/people are human kids who came to valinor and cant go back or somefink...
i think...*gets even more confused*

Don't expect The Book of Lost Tales to be at all consistent with the Silmarillion (or LotR). "The Book of Lost Tales" was Tolkien's original, unfinished version of the mythology, written during and just after the first world war. So if you want to read it, forget everything you know about Valinor, Middle-earth, Elves, Men, and everything else. It's also almost essential to read the commentary - you're certainly missing something if you don't.

Yeah that book was hard to muddle through with all the contradictions in it.
