Is thier such a thing? And what is it?

I think their is such a thing. Iconsider the death penalty justifiabe homicide, as well as killing in self defense, or defense of another. We dont kill to teach people that killing is wrong, we kill to teach people that murder(illing with out proper reason) is wrong.

Opinions? thought? Agreements? Disagreements?

i agree with you. i think that the capital punishment is a need in some cases, and i also believe that killing in self deffence is also justifiable.
but i don't think that people should be encouraged to take things into their own hands. i mean, killing to protect others can be taken in many ways. a father or brother can kill a man because he's mollesting his sister or whatever.
and yet, the authorities aren't that efficient either, are they?:)
they usually pretty much mess everything up.

Justifiable homicide is killing within the boundaries of the law: i.e. government executions, self-defense). It has to be otherwise everyone's idea of what is "justifiable" will vary and vigilante justice would reign supreme.

Unfortunately, Canada (at least in British Columbia) has virtually no such thing. If someone breaks in my house in the dead of night to kill me and my family and I defend myself and do him in first, I can be charged and sent to prison.

If a person breaks into my house and trips over a stool and breaks his leg, he can charge me.

Incredible isn't it?

Incredible isn't it? But is he governments idea of Justifiable homicidecompletly right? I would say not in all cases. I beliee now adays people confuse murder with killing, they ae not the same thing, and that must be remembered.

Murder/homicide is one thing - it's the intentional killing of an innocent person. Killing can also mean this, but it's more just the act of taking a life, which can justifiably be done in capital punishment and self-defense.

Thorin: How can you stand the idea of criminals having more rights than you do? It's your home, he is the intruder.....he should have zero rights. Whatever happens, happens, and he should suck it up or just not invade your domain in the first place.

Sorry, that kinda set me off.......:o
