The shading is very good, but his balance seems a little off... And he also looks sorta short and Dwarvish. But with practice and a bit of redrawing he could look super! :)

By the way dose anyone know a good preportion site? I always seam to have trouble with that!
And lemme tell you the truth about the piccy I drew. I did it in two parts. Above the belt I did first. I was just going to leave it like that, because as most ppl have seen the legolas pic www.angelfire.com/film/statham/images/leg13.JPG (http://www.angelfire.com/film/statham/images/leg13.JPG)
and it only has the top half of him. But I figure ok lets finish him and add legs. So I tried my hardest, but not being very good at legs to begin with and not having any refences to look at...well you can see he is very very very dwarfish on the lower half! LOL!

All I can say is work work work!!! Almost imagine running your hands over your legs, and try to put that on paper. Otherwise look at other pics and work out the proportions from there.
Good work!:)

It's very well done i liked it. I think the face needs work though, and the balance.

I would suggest doing some life study first. Just practice. You got shading down, now try a little structuring. It's a good pic, it just needs a little work ;)

Very nice picture of legolas, and a hard angle to pull off at that. As far as any C&C goes I'm just going to say you might want to study a little anatomy just some quick basics (which includes proportion) even if u don't see the musculature under all the clothes. For as a solid foundation leads to a good house , so does good (anatomy) structure lead to a solid drawing. Well I hope this helps out some. Feel free to PM me any time if u want some links to anatomy sites.
p.s. keep drawing!

Yes I agree on that. It's very important, and you are so right about the angle being a difficult one. OMG! That was such a pain to pull off.

His shoulders and head are too broad and compact making him look dwarvish.
Also his legs are a bit too thick.
But the pose and the stance with the bow and the way his feet are spread is VERY good.

Two suggestions: Legolas wore "elf shoes" not boots (remember the snow on the mountain) and if you are going to do this type of figure drawing, I would definitely recommend Burne Hogarth's "Dynamic Figure Drawing, A New Approach to Drawing the Moving Figure in Deep Space and Foreshortening". It's a "must" book for this type of image making. The book is available in soft cover.
Otherwise, very well done, at least in the opinion of a "visitor" to the Guild! ;)
