Ingolemo unlocked the doors of his wood working class and sat down. He took a slab of wood and a hammer and awaited the students.

The wood working shop was in the basement of the temple of Heren Istarion, where no one could hear the hammers. Now the moon was glistening, for Wood working was a night class, and Ingolemo awaited his students.

Dain walked into the classroom, and smirked. Wood working was not where this Dwarf wanted to be, as a Dwarf's heart is not concerned with such petty material. Dain craved to work with metal and jewelry as he had done on the Lonely Mountain, but he would have to learn how to work with wood in case the need for siege weaponry ever arised.

Ingolemo looked long at Dain.

"It seems you are my only student," said he. "Welcome!" Ingolemo pulled a knife from his cloak.

"Pick a knife from those assembled on the wall over there and join me."

Dain grabbed the dullest knife from the wall for he knew it was the best for cutting wood, as opposed to a sharper blade which was better for carving details. Dain knew much about woodcarving, and was eager to get this class over with.

"This is the simplest class you will ever take, as I see you are a Dwarf. I will give you one rule: always cut away from your body. Now each lesson will be me telling you to carve something and I will grade you on the steps you take." Ingolemo thought for a second.

"Carve me a small model sword to place beside my bed to ward away attackers."

Dain held up the block of wood that Anamatar had given him.

"Ha! This is all you can give one to carve? This wood is poor and full of holes on the inside. I can tell by merely looking at it. Ah... this will do," Dain said, going towards the door to the cellar.

"Dain... what are you doing?" Anamatar asked, nervous and tense. But his question was asked too late, for Dain had knocked down the door and started whittling out the edges. "DAIN!!!" Anamatar yelled.

Anamatar gave Dain a better piece of wood. "Please continue!"

Dain threw the block of wood at Anamatar and snorted. "Nay I want this door instead," said the Dwarf with a charming smile that even Anamatar could not resist.

Chokang, son of Dwalin walked through the space where the door used to be.
"Is this the Wood Working class?" inquired Chokang.
After looking around the room, he couldn't resist snickering at Dain's antics, and the fix that he had Anamatar in.

"Indeed this is the wood working class," Anamatar said right before he slapped Dain ontop of his hard helm. Anamatar then took the door back.

"Use your slab of cheaply bought wood, Dain," he said. Anamatar went and fixed the door for the others. "Chokang, uh welcome and make sure Dain doesn't tear apart any other furnniture.

"Fine! I will!" Dain shouted. He began to whittle a tiny sword from the block of wood, it was about 8 inches in height. Its handle was that of a snake, its teeth open and ready to bite into the hand of whoever wielded it. Anamatar looked at it with great admiration, and looked at his little wooden sword with malcontempt.

Chokang managed to cut his piece of wood in half with a hand-saw, but in the process, managed to cut himself several times.
"It appears that I'm not as skilled as Dain when it comes to woodwork," Chokang mused, "But just wait till blacksmith classes commence, you shall have some competition, Dain."

An elf by the name Fair haven with gold hair walks into the class looks around at the room,"Is this the wood working class?"She asked as she walked over to Anamatar.

Grandlyon comes in behind Fair. He walks up to Ingolemo and tells him his name. Then he sat down.

ooc: Anamatar what should i call you in charater in this thread? Because some people call you Anamatar and some Ingolemo. You even used both names. Can you help me out here?

OOC:

I'm Anamatar. Ingolemo is no longer the teacher.:)

"Welcome, the two of you," Anamatar said to the newcomers. "Please, grab a knife from the wall and join me here."

Fair haven walked over to the wall and picked out a knife with a silver handle and a red jeawel. Then she walked over to Anamater and waited for her first order.

Chokang sat down in front of the woodwork room and awaited Anamatar's arrival. In the distance he noticed a squirrel bounding through the trees. The Dwarf pulled out one of his throwing axes and lined up the squirrel, but at the last second he withdrew his axe.
"Hmm, I'd better not," he mumbled to himself, "If Kilease found out, I'd get into even deeper trouble than I am in right now!"
The sun was just starting to lower, and shadows were starting to form.
"Just past midday," Chokang thought, "It shouldn't be too long now..."

Grandlyon looked at Chokang with disapointment. For he wanted to see another show off his axe throwing skills. "Ah come on Kilkease isn't here why worry. Anamatar isn't even in sight yet." Grandlyon said to Chokang. So the dwarf sat down and waited for Chokang to throw it or Anamatar to walk in the classroom.

A messenger scurried up to the door of the Wood Working class. He had a sign in his hand. He hung it on the door for all to see whether they were there or not. The sign read:

"Wood Working class today is cancelled. Anamatar is slightly ill and unfortunetly could not make it to class today. You may use this class as a study hall." The students took their time reading it and leaving.

"Bah!" Chokang grunted, "Men are such a weak species, I've seen more resiliance in a squirrel."
A squirrel popped it's head up from behind a tree a few meters away, as if it were agreeing.
"Blasted things!" yelled Chokang, before hurling a throwing axe towards it. The rodent fell to the ground, with it's head bouncing in the opposite direction of it's body.
"There you go, Grandlyon," grinned Chokang, "All you're Durin's Day's have come at once!"
The dwarf then headed off to the Darrow.
