Anamatar IV
01-22-2003, 08:26 PM
Anamatar stood atop a tall hill partially aloof to the Heren Istarion complexes. A gentle breeze blew up there as the sun was slowly rising to a white dawn. He walked to a rock on the summit and blew a loud horn.
"Hearken! Word Skills will begin when the sun is just beyond the mountains!" he cried aloud.
Away in the distance Anamatar could see figures scurrying to and fro, trying to find his class.
Anamatar chuckled. He loved having a class that nobody could find.

"What in the? Where is-? Why does this stupid class have to be so far away!" the Dwarf growled, stumbling upon on the rocky slope. "Alas! These training classes are difficult indeed! Why my legs and arms have felt not this fatigued since I was searching for my son Zalek, ah... I wonder where he is now?" he asked himself. Dain's reason for leaving Erebor was to search for his son, whom had been expelled from the kingdom for raising a Dragon. But he had never been found.
Luckily, Dain left his armor back in his dorm and was wearing only a chain jerkin about his stout body, and a hood of leather which covered his head. His axe was still with him, and he used it to struggle up the mountain. If it were not for those rigorous training classes, Dain would not have to hobble like an old Hobbit. Finally he came to the summit, and found Anamatar, a smile upon his face. Dain just sat on the ground where he stood, and waited for the others to come.

Sarin scrambled to and fro for awhile before spotting the figures of a Dwarf and a Man on top of a large hill. He also saw the sun begin to journey beyond the mountain. Not wanting to be late again he sprinted to the base then began climbing as quickly as he could. "I... thought I'd get a break from my physical training today..." He panted as he finally made it to the top and sat down panting next to Dain.

Anamatar looked at his students with an austere face.
"There is a reason why I set this class atop a mountain," said he. "I believe that only when your body is pushed to limits can your tongue be free to speak with fair words. This will not be a class to test your strength, nor to teach you how to make your speech sound fair to ears. But rather, this is a class to show you how to make yourself aloof from the common tongue and take the time to make your voice ring out among the mountains. For people will hearken when you use fair words."

țieluar couldn't see where the class where and he ran around in circles untill suddenly he heard Anamatar's voice from the top of the mountain and he began climbing up the mountain. When he came to the top of the mountain he saw that the class already had started. He then quickly sat down next to Sarin.

Anamatar continued.
"Finding synonyms for words will help your voice sound good. For example, that sentence can easily be made:
Finding words of like meaning will aid your voice in the quest for fair sound."

Lossenandunewen appeared soundlessly upon the hill.
"Lord Anamatar, I thought you would make this a difficult class to find. I hardly began to panic."
She smiled out to Sarin, and awaited her next lesson.

Sarin moved over next to Lossenandunewen and grinned whispering to her. "You are a bit late though. Anyway I had not the slightest idea you were taking this class though I will not complain I do enjoy the company."

"Well, I'm here to learn. I want to soak up as much as possible before I leave again. And hopefully I can learn to sound more sophisticated"
She smiled at him, and looked into his eyes as if searching for an answer to something unknown.

He returned his gaze deep into her own eyes mystified by them. Not wanting to look away."I think you do quite fine with sophistication on your own. Anyway I'm here to learn how to articulate all I can find in myself and others."

Grandlyon runs up the mountin with some speed behind him. It took him awhile to find the right mountin. But this dwarf has exceptional endurance. "Sorry for being late but, this class this is one hard place to find." Grandlyon reply's.

A pair of hands were seen on the end of the classroom. Lorien Pulled her self up with a clumbsy thump. "sorry" she muttered, To the other students a little bit embrassed. SHe got up ,slowly and brushed the dirt off her cloths, which were already stained from her climb up the moutain. She'd slipped and stepped in the mud numerous times but knew this class would be worth her wile

Anamatar welcomed the newcomer accordingly.
"You are not direly late, maiden," Anamatar spoke looking gently at the person exasperated from the climb. "I have just began the class." A slow smile spread over Anamatar's mouth as he looked about his students. "As I have said before this is a class not to learn how to speak with words that will make the birds sing but to learn how to role play eloquently and thoughtfully. I will now say again what I have said in lessons past, to give newcomers a sense of what has passed atop this loftly place:
Finding synonyms for words will help your voice sound good. For example, that sentence can easily be made:
Finding words of like meaning will aid your voice in the quest for fair sound.
Using similies and metaphors in your role playing can help IMMENSLY. Using these is TRULY the skill of real role player. A real role player does this automatically. They do not even need to think about using them, as it just comes. For example, using the tips we've learned this sentence:
The ealges flew to us. Can easily become this:
The eagles soared to us with a tempest before them and thunder under their wings.

Stumbling up the mountain Vanaanooniel tripped and fell several feet before she grabbed a rock and started upward again. This time she made it to the very top. She got there just in time to hear Anamatar's last lesson. Breathing hard she managed to say "My-Lord I am sorry for being so very late." She then looked down at her toes, feeling very ashamed of herself.

Anamatar walked towards the newcomer, his brooch of a golden star gave forth a fire as the sun set upon the mountain.
"Welcome," Anamatar spoke with a sound as sweet as the spring birds and as soft as the winter snow.
"Now class, make a post using the tips I gave you," he called in a clear voice. Ingolemo from the feet of the mountain below looked on in admiration as Anamatar enamoured his students.

Vanaanooniel walked over to were the others were setting. Her feet made no sound and there was no inprint, it was as if the earth and her were one. "I do hope that this class will help my meaningless words become meaningful." she thought to herself lightly.

Like that? I tryed to use what you told us.

Avari walked in, her bright eyes shining. This was her kind of class. She did not think that it would be that hard, yet then again, what DID she know? She walked up to the instructor. "Hello. I am Avari. I apologize for being late to this class, yet I only just heard that it is now required." She went and sat down in a seat in the back row, in the far corner, and got out her pen and paper(or should I call it parchment?). She then looked up at the teacher, feeling kind of awkward. She had never been this late to a class in her life. Then again, most of her classes before Heren Istarion...
She quickly banished the thought from her mind, and forced herself to concentrate on the lesson.
OCC: How was mine? It isn't my best, yet I think it was pretty good... What is your opinion? I didn't revise it, or look back over it, and if there are any problems, I will edit the post.

Lorien smiled half-heartedly and Avarui and then took out her jornal. She flipped through the stained pages and found a deliciously blank one . She scribbled something briskly before the book tumbled out of her hands and on to the floor. OH NO she thought . It landed on a page with a stained that looked horribly like blood

Anamatar nodded contently at his captivated learners sitting in the sward of soft green grass at the crest of this great mountain, crowned by a mist that flamed red in the setting sun that would only mean rain. He lifted up his hand signifying for the students to listen and spoke with more soft words.
"This lesson has ended, but do not dismiss what I have taught you! Use the lessons ever in your role playing. Always use it! Class dismissed," he said with a grin on his face.

OOC:
Keep posting with my lessons, you guys.
ElvishHellion: That was a good post, though I didn't see any of what I had taught in my lesson (aside from that last part). Try to make your posts sound somewhat more poetic (not too poetic mind you). Also, watch your spelling. Write your posts in Microsoft word, spell check, copy, and paste it here.
elfgirl: a good entrance post, really...but some things you should know (this goes to all of you!): The class is atop a mountain...no chairs or desks. You won't need to write anyways. Pens have not yet been invented (or pencils for that matter....people wrote with quills and ink). Yet again, elfgirl, try to incorporate what I taught in my lesson. I can really tell you tried but try a bit more. Take time with your posts.
Legolaschick: Great post! Just make them a bit longer next time...take your time and say all that you can say in an rp post.
See you all next time.

Arianne crawled in the back door and slid up into a seat, trying not to draw attention to herself.
