Anamatar IV
01-29-2003, 12:57 AM
I have decided to start a thread for the more inexperienced role players of Heren Istarion. This will solely be an example so you can see how an rp works. I am asking that only grand council members post in this thread.

I am using a common rp idea: A town is being ravaged by orcs. must kill orcs.;)

there will be a test on this rp---those who fail or do not do the test are suspended from HI

Anamatar stood up and walked through the bar. He was scared as all the others were. But he with few others had tried to stand against these beasts.

"Sir! They are back!" A young boy told Anamatar.

Anamatar whipped out his sword and ran out the door followed by a small band of armed others.

But when Anamatar got to where the Orcs were attacking, it was too late.

Dain followed Anamatar, for he did not wish to remain idle while Orcs slaughtered the innocent. Kheled-bruk firmly grasped in his hands, he looked upon the destruction and a fury kindled in him hotter than the fires in the forges of Erebor. Seeing the Orcs stick their black blades in the fleeing women and children drove Dain to near madness and he charged ahead at the nearest Orc, his axe aflame with the light of the moon. Its clear surface shone a pale white-blue and it clove into Orc as a hot knife through melting copper. The others charged against the Orcs after the Dwarf, for they were eager to slay these vile creatures.

The orcs brutally attacked the townsfolk, slaying all they saw. Their leader watched from the top of a nearby hill. His archers stood, grunting in anxiety.

The commander let out a harsh cry, and arrows flooded the skies, slaying both orc and man alike. The commander called for a second volley of arrows, and more fell to the bite of the poisoned shafts.

The orcs began to set fire to the house, but some failed, fallen to the blade of Anamatar or hewn by the axe of Dain.

A tall orc in the midst of the battle swung his mace harshly, crushing the skull of a young man. He turned around as a silver axe smote him, splintering his skull. Black blood slowly poured out of the wound.

Another orc had made his way into a hut unnoticed. Inside, a young woman huddled in the corner, quivering with fear. The orc sneered in delight, and walked over to the girl. He grasped her neck, and pulled out a small crooked dagger. With it, he slowly cut her throat, but only lightly. He then ravaged her, and killed her. The younger brother of the woman had seen this all, and ran out of his hiding place towards the orc with his father's wood axe. The blade of the axe hit the orc's arm, and the creature screamed in pain. With his other arm, the powerful creature put the dagger through the boy's chest, and left the mortally wounded body in the house. As the orc was leaving, Anamatar ran over to his and sent his blade through the orcs neck, instantly slaying him.

Anamatar entered the house, and was shocked at the site. The two bodies were strewn upon the floor, and the boy took his last breath. He then spit up blood, and his eyes rolled back, white with death.

Dain's axe glowed with a pink fire, from the blood coating his axe. He was being surrounded by these Orcs, but fortunately a group of young warriors came from the trees to his rescue.

Their swords were sharp, and their bows bent. A great rift was opened in the circle of fell Orcs, and Dain ran out to meet his comrades.

"Quickly warriors of Heren Istarion! Fight! Fight till the death!" he cried, and charged back into the battle.

Goldie arrived at the battle, bow strung, shooting her first arrows as she ran, killing her targets in one shot. Stopping twenty feet from the battle, Goldie shot arrow after arrow into the thicket, aiming at the orcs farthest away from her friends.

Charmiana Rode on her roan into the thickest of the battle. Her sword Kleissan sparkled in the moonlight. Many an ork head fell to her sword and yet for every ork down ten seemed to appear and take its place.

Amidst all this chaos Charmiana saw one ork, one terrible ork kill an innocent women revelling in her pain. She must have suffered a slow painful death. Charmiana rushed over to that ork and swung with the heavy hand of justice...

The orc commander gave signal for another volley of arrows, and many shafts of death struck the flesh of the villagers. The life that they once held was ripped from them, but it only caused the remnant to rise up to an even greater level.

"Target the short, fat one, and the elves." commanded the leader, smiling grimly as the arrows flew.

"Burn it down!" he screamed, and two-dozen orcs lit torches, and ran towards to village buildings. An elf shot four down, but the rest of the raiding party still remained.

Anamatar turned to see four homes burst into flames.

"He cannot save them," muttered the commander.

"NO" cried Charmiana she raced to the flaming building but it was too late and she heard a fowl laugh on the wind. Tears welled up in her eyes but she faught the harder for them, someone would pay for that there was no time to think of that though for the orks were rushing her and her fellow elves and dwarf how much longer they would last---she did not know...
