View Full Version : The Journey of Middle-Earth (The Fellowship to the East)

The major places in the East, which feature in the RPG are:
Mirthdor, an elven safe haven which is beside the Bambury Woods and the River Trinox. Mirthdor is within the land of Bhâr which is also called the Silvan Lands home to the Wood elves.
The city of men is Minas Anűl in Conltor, although important, it is not as big as Gondor.
Other places are Ered Pithril, home to the Eastern Dwarves
The Stoney Desert in Khraznir home to the Balrog, Sathnűl, Ered Kril where the whole fellowship is trying to get to and Haag Forest where many a new evil dwells.
The RPG begins in the concil of Elrond where beings from the houses of each race have been gathered to discuss the fate of Middle-Earth (again  ) For the sake of opening the RPG I'll begin as Elrond :D

The Lord Elrond sat within the circle of Elves, Men, Dwarves and other beings of Middle-Earth. His ageless face was set with determination though his eyes betrayed true fear and worry. Seated elegantly upon his throne, the timeless elf began.
"As you all know, you have been gathered hear to answer a call which has been made by the Elves and Men of the furthest East.
War is upon Middle-Earth, and unless you, Beings of the West, form together to help fight, all shall be lost, and the fair races of Middle-Earth, not just that of the Elves, shall fall unto darkness and seise to exist in the good places ever again. Therefore I ask you. Will to rise together?" The elf sat waiting, looking into the eyes of each being that sat within the circle, as if challenging their very soul.

Bill the Troll stands in this council, trying to stay out of sight, un-successfully. Looking (and feeling) very out of place, he then decides he MUST do this mission, or he will be back on the lonely roads soon, an Outcast. He quckly stands to full height:
:o :o *points at himself* "???, ?..." :D :D
Thinks if he smiles brightly enough, Lord Elrond will let him go with the Fellowship. :D :o :D

Tárakaliel looks at the troll, eyes wide in amazement. She stands from her seat and says, "My name is Tárakaliel. I am from the forests of Mirkwood. I would like to help fight."
She looks around at the rest of the group. Hoping there would be someone with her.
Chokang, son of Dwalin looked up at the elf and the troll, then stood up.
"I see that there is no representative for the mighty dwarves," he remarked, "therefore I shall aid you in your quest. I am Chokang, son of Dwalin from the Iron Hills."
Chokang then looked at the remainder of the council.
"But three companions is not enough for such a journey, so who else shall join us?" he added.
"I am Celebrien, of Nan Elmoth. I will come, though I do not know my way around in the Far East. We shall need some one who does before long." He then sat back down.

Hoof beats sound as two elves arrive, hooded & cloaked.
Dismounting the first elf slides the the cloak off her shoulders, revealing what would have been an attractive face if it not werefor the scar that ran down the left hand side of her face, from eye to cheek.
Brushing away a strand of jet black hair she murmers:" i appologise for our lateness but we encounterd difficulties."
< the other elf dismounts & moves to stand behind the first, he limps badly from a fresh wound in his side.>
The female elf continues "i as you know my lord <smiles at Elrond> am Liat ravensong, & this is my dear friend Tauron snowfeather, we hope that we may be of service to you in this time of great peril."

Elrond smiles at his daughter with both that of worry and respect.
"If indeed that is you will, Bethelarien, then so let it be, although it pains me to have my daughter leave me in such times of fear." Again the Lord of Rivendell survayed the council. "There is Eight that stand before me. Eight of Elves, Dwraves," he paused momentarily, "And Troll. If indeed this is all who wish to stand, then you must elect a leader, one to guide you through the perils of both the East and West throughout your journey."

Out of the shadows came a young Elf, previously unnoticed by the others, looking very ragged and weather-beaten. "I am Glarin, son of Tuar, Master of Mirthdor. I have wandered these Western lands, by my father's will, for several years now, searching for this place known only in legend in the East by the name of Rhansdomel, but now I know that this place truly does exist, by the name of Rivendel, what a strange language you people have."
"I will lead the journey to the East...Though, I do not know the way and I will need as much as help as I can get." Celebrien stands when he says, but quickly sits back down almost in embarrassment of his outburst.

a flash of red suddenly burst into the room, and in walked Lossenandunewen. She looked at Elrond with her grey eyes. "Your Lord, if you haven't completed your search for worthy Journeymen to the east, i would like to bring myself into the equation. I'm sure i could be some help, i'm quite useful in the ways of the bow and blade. Should anyone encounter serious problems I will aid them with my life." She finished, glancing at the sun, seeing it begin to slowly set. She stood and waited for a response.

The eyes of the Elves, looking at him, or maybe Lord Elrond's mention of his own self to the council, or Lossenandunewen's last comment, or a mix of all three even--was enough to make poor old Bill's heart tremble...and a tear dropped down his cheek.
He raises up his big hand, and like a small school-troll, waits excitedly to be called upon....:D :D
OOC: As far as I know, you have not posted in the "Wanna join? Post here." thread greypilgrim so please post there if you are interested in joining, then you may post in the discussions and rps.

occ: You just knew that was comming :p
As the council departed to gather the items they would need, Lord Elrond pulled Gorfindel to one side away from the others.
"This quest shall be hard and pay a terrible price on all of us should you fail. It is because of this that I give you this advice and pray you take heed of it. Once you have passed through Mirkwood and crossed the Sea of Rhun, you shall journey to Mirthdor, through the mountains of the Dwarves. You know as well as I that to go around the mountain trail would be folly, it is patrolled both day and night by creatures far worse than Orcs and Goblins. At Mirthdor, the home of your kin, you shall be provided with Horses, for your own cannot survive the pass through the mountains, and then ride through the woods of Bambury and across the Plains of Bhar. From there the company must ride South till the Forest of Haag. The journey from there forth is yours to decide."

Chokang rose again. "A company of nine," he muttered, "it is not the first time that a company of this number has set out from Rivendell." I do not wish to lead this company, as I know that no elf wishes to be told what to do by a Dwarf. Chokang then reached down for his axe, then said, "Shall we be leaving now? If so, which way will we cross the mountains? Over the mountains, or through the Gap of Rohan?"
Bethelarien
01-31-2003, 02:59 PM
"The gap of Rohan would be far quicker, and I sense that we must be in haste," says Bethelarien.
"Actually, to go through Moria would be the quickest way possible. But, it would also be the most dangerous. I do not want to force you into it's shadows, so I feel we must have a vote. Those who wish to go through Moria please voice your opinion." Celebrien said.
Chokang tightened his grip on the axe, and said "The mines of Moria are now safe, since Durin's Bane has been slayed, and most of the orcs were killed at Lorien. Only a few remain, and should stand no chance against this Dwarf!"

Occ: Ummm, just warning you. This all happenes BEFORE the fellowship of the ring. In fatc, Bilbo's not even been born yet :p
Ic: The high elf shook his head, "There will be no need to pass through the Mines of Moria, and hte Gap at Rohan will lead the company too far off corse. There is a path leading over a weak part of Hithaeglir behind Rivendell, from there the quickest route is North, past the head of Mirkwood and Up-stream following the River Running.
occ: I'll try and get pics of the maps up asap!
"I apologize, I do not wish to go to those dark halls either Bethelarien. I think we must go through Moria if we are to be as hasty as possible. I think we should get ready to leave tomorrow. Pack up your things, rest, do whatever you have to and we will leave early tomorrow morning." He then left the council to gather his things.
A few hours later...
Celebrien was in his room. His clothing and food supplies were packed, and he was sharpening his knives. "Sigh...I do not think what I did was very wise...Perhaps I am not ready to lead this expedition, after all I am not even of High Elven blood like Bethelarien. Well what's done is done and I cannot undo it. I shall have to try my best and hope no harm comes." He finished his knives and moved on to Anglachel, his sword.

IC: "The head of mirkwood? how long it's been since i've seen my kin.. but i will try to defeat temptation to wander into the forest."
Later in her chamber:
Lossenandunewen stood by her bed, the last bed she will know for atleast a few years, or however long the journey should take. She started to think about the quest, and how it may be later on into it. She packed a few robes, and put her quiver and knives next to the bed. She sat and began to sharpen the ivory blades.
"This mission just may be the end" she thought to herself "I hope my companions can deal with my stubborn aggresive nature, another of my attributes that can make me seem less elven like. I'm a rare race, not high like Bethelarien, nor as noble as Celebrien, but i will try to prove myself among such honourable folk. Afterword i hope my home and kin shall be waiting. How i miss the trees. This shall be long." She concluded as she packed away the last of her store of Lembas. her red hair wild in the moonlight
"I will show my worth."

OOC: Emowyn you called my character Glorfindel, remember that in this RP my character's name is Glarin.;)
IC: "With all due respect Master Elrond, when I traveled here from the East I took the path over that great forest you call Mirkwood, it is not safe. To the North of Mirkwood are the Grey Mountains, those lands are swarming with Orcs, they have several colonies there, we should not go that way, it is perilous. Not with 10,000 men could we take that route, no matter how hard we try stealth, the northern borders of Mirkwood are swarming with spies, all kinds of foul creatures besides orcs dwell there. When I was not even half way across the route between the forest and the mountains, an arrow went shooting past me, and I saw an orc spy riding swiftly to the north on a warg, I believe he was going to tell of my presence, I then had to ride for 3 days and 3 nights without rest in order to reach safety.
These Misty Mountains sound perilous as well. Therefore, I propose that we take a very long route, it will be the longest possible route that we can take to my land, but this is what I suggest:
We must travel far to the West and the North, in doing so we should pass on the West and North the lands of Carn Dum and Angmar, past the Mount Gundabad, the realm of the Witch King. We should then turn East, and pass to the North the land of Angmar, the Grey Mountains, and the Withered Heath, where dragons dwell. We should then travel South to the Iron Hills, where we can recieve help from the Dwarves, if they are willing. We can then take the path down the River of Carnen (Redwater), which flows from the Iron hills into the Sea of Rhun. We can sail across the Sea of Rhun. We will then cross the Mountains of the Dwarves of the East and go into the land of my kin, and then complete our task from there. This quest will take a very long time, but what I have mentioned is the safest way to go."
OOC: Emowyn does Smaug control the Lonely Mountain or the Dwarves, and how long before the fellowship is this? Because it wasn't too long before the fellowship that the Dwarves still controlled Moria, in which case we could use that way.

Charmiana senced an unrest in Celebrien and so met him in the courtyard. "One never knows when they ae truly ready you must find out through trial. If you never do anything until you feel absolutly ready you might turn into an ent. Truly you will make a good leader."
"No Glarin, we must not take so long a journey. I fear we will be too late and that the plans will have moved or been destroyed by the time we arrive. We must go through Moria, unless there be a quicker way. Thank you for your trust in me Charmiana, I hope this journey will strengthen me."

Tárakaliel hears of her home, Mirkwood, not being safe. It has been too long since she set foot in those lands. She did not know of anything there.
She sets out to her chambers, packing her clothing and supplies that she will need. She sets out her weapons. A sword with elven markings, dagger from the lands of Gondor, and a bow, from her home lands. She laid out her armor. A dark red, long sleeve shirt with a leather shirt over top. It was a lighter shade of red and had elven designs. She had with them, black leggings and black leather boots.
Mirkwood, how I've longed to see your tall trees once again.
With what she heard, it would be most likely she wouldn't see those trees for some time.
Chokang left the council hall, and went to his chamber. He had been sent here from his home in the Iron Hills by Dain Ironfoot to represent the Dwarves of the area. He knew that the journey's path to the east would most probably lead through the area surrounding the Iron Hills, and that they would be able to pick up supplies from there.
Because of this, he packed light, taking his double sided war axe, his bearded axe, and a few throwing axes. He put on his mithril vest, his golden helm and his clothes of varying shades of red and brown.
"This shall be a long and arduous journey," he muttered to himself, "made even more difficult by having to travel with all these elves."
Chokang wasn't as fond of elves as his cousin, Gimli would become. The few that he did travel with seemed to ignore his every word, and disrespected him.
He then left his chamber and went for a stroll through Rivendell to inspect the works of the stone masons of the region.

Ic: Elrond placed a calm hand upon the sholder of Celebrien.
"If Glarin speacks ture, which I do not doubt, then his route, though long, will be the safety of this company. Already they gather their things, earger and unaware. Take heed of you fellow elf's words, for do not forget, he has travelled from the East and knows well the paths which lie untouched. Follow his pass for as long as it takes for you to reach Mirthdor. From there, you and him must act together to decide upon the safest route." Then he turns to the second elf, the elf of the East. From his robes he drew forth a sword and sheath and held it out to him, "This is the Voronda, the sword of the Western Elves. In our tongue it is also known as the Faithful. Use it well and keep the company safe, for you know the dangers you face." The sheath was made of many leaves, draped around the sword in a sheild of Ivy, it was obviously the work of the Elves of Lorien. The hilt od the sword was encrusted on the joint with a single, smooth green stone. rune carvings around the stone read; "Be faithful to thouself, I will be faithful to thee "

Lossenandunewen was lured to her window by a soft flutesong. Indeed one of the most beautiful she's heard in many a year. Looking in the direction of the music she saw Master Chokang, and the player - an elf of most true talent and wisdom. On the other side she saw Elrond and Glarin speaking huddled, most likely going through plans and routes for the road. Lossenandunewen then looked at the stars and moon, and began to sing a song of woe, a song describing an elf who was always overlooked, and elf who never got the chance to do anything because her kin was afraid for her. She completed and continued to watch the clouds in the night sky.

"Please my lord, I am not from these lands, and I do not know them very well, have Celebrien lead us. I do not wish to take a leading role among so many that I am not familiar with. When we reach the eastern lands just beyond the Iron Hills, then I will be able to lead them, for that is close to the borders of my lands, and is the farthest west I have traveled before now, and is the extent of my knowledge into the western lands."

Elrond nodded once again, "Indeed Master Glarin, but this is not the reason I give you this sword. There are other purposes besides leadership for which I ask you to defend the company." He turned to Celebrien. "You shall lead this fellowship and you shall lead it with dignaty and hope. Although Glarin can lead you from the mountain of Smaug to the lands of the Silven kin, it is you who shall make the vital desicions." Once more the elf ofered the sword to Glarin, hoping that he would take it nobelly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Many days before the company had arrived at Rivendell, another elf, a maid of Mirkwood, had left and rode East on a steed of pale light colour. She had crossed over the pass behind Rivendell but had rode south to the halls of Mirkwood where she journeyed undergroud for the best part of three days. From there the woodland elf slid past the many Orc troops and Wrag riders to the Pass at Rhun through the Dwarf mountains. Her route was then clear and arrived in the House of Mirthdor a day after the company had departed.
"You are right Master Elrond, I do not know the lands or the guard set around them. I apologize Glarin, we will take your way. I just hope we are not too late!" After saying this he left the Council. With nothing left to do but wait for tomorrow he wandered among the buildings in Rivendell. He soon found Chokang admiring the stonework. "Hello Master Dwarf, admiring the stone work as well I see?" Celebrien said. "Hello, Celebrien..." the dwarf said grudgingly. "They have placed the stones excellent on this particular building, but the main hall is rather lacking in quality don't you think?" The dwarf, surprised by Celebrien's knowledge answered him "Yes you are right, I had noticed that as well, but how do you know so much of masonry?" "Oh, well my family has always been friends with dwarves, they have much more to teach then most Elves think!" Celebrien answered.

OOC: YayGollum, it's probably because you can be informal at times in your posts. eg, excessive use of the word "dude" and "guy", and not adressing some people by their correct names. I don't mind it, but some players can be picky.
IC: Chokang mounted his pony, Moja, and followed the others out of Rivendell. After several hours riding, the company reached the beginning of the Trollshaws.
Chokang rode up to Celebrien, and spoke to him. "The pits of Angmar are only a few days ride afar," Chokang noted, "And the Balrogs of old still dwell there, how shall we avoid them? There is no way that we could defeat them all."

Liat & Tauron ride into the clearing.
On Tauron's arm ther rides a small sparrow hawk & a large wild cat pads behind Liat's large roan Gelding.
With a small self concious smile Liat turns to the company & incures "i hope that you do mind if these.....animals <the cat swishes it's tail in annoyance> accompany us, i picked them up on our last quest & they have followed us since."

Lossenandunewen went to the stables to fetch her grey horse, molirin, and went to join the rest. She stood next to Glarin and tapped him on the shoulder, he looked at her. "Lord, i do not trust this new man. He does not speak like the people he claims to come from, we should be cautious. I'm quite intuitive in these matters, but i may be wrong. Still, we should keep an eye out for him." She lead her horse back to the end of the group, and awaited the leave.

Bethelarien, suddenly anxious about this dangerous quest, goes to her father. Hoping for comfort, she manages to get him away from the rest of the company, not wanting the others to see any sign of weakness in her.
"Father, are you sure this course is wise? I am uneasy about this."

Elrond took the sword from Glarin, "The I shall keep this token till you return for I have no doubt in my mind that heeds you shall not." Soon after, he found himself alone with his daughter, As she spoke, his elven heart filled with the deepest of sorrow which pirced both his soul and mind. He placed both hands upon her gentle shoulders and smiled into her eyes.
"I have no doubt in the skills of Celebrien and Glarin. Their route may lead through danger but it still holds the safest pass. If I thought you where in any more danger I am afriad to say that I would not let you proceed from Rivendell." Whith this he silenced his beautiful daughter and kissed her upon the forehead, "My mind and heart will be turned to you until you return!" At this he helped her onto her steed. In the moment the passed before the company departed, Elrond drew Glarin to one side once more, out of the ear of the rest of the fellowship.
"Many days before you arrived here, the White Lady, Elesselde set out from Rivendell bound for the halls of the city where you aim. Although I know better, please make sure that she has had a safe arrival, for I deem it a high price for the Elves of the East to loose another of their much loved Heirs."

"I will do so Lord Elrond, and I will watch over your daughter, no harm will come to her, I promise. Fare well!" As they were leaving Glarin listened to what Lossenandunewen had to say, and replied, "he does not seem the most friendly, nor the most intelligent, of beings, you are right. We must watch out for him, he may too dumb to protect himself, or he may be extremely cunning and wishes not to show it, or he may be an enemy. We shall be wary."

As the fellowship left Rivendell and rode into the distant mountains, The Lord Elrond couldn't help but fear that he may have made an unwise choice in sending his daughter. But she was in safe hands and it was her choice in which she was doing so, but his heart was still not at rest and wouldn't be until she returned to him safely.

(Jumping back in time now from a previous post of mine :D )
After a long journey through many unsafe lands, The ranger Emowyn finally left the dark tunnels of the Rhun mountains, home of the Dwarves and burst into fresh sunlight. Many days had passed where she had seen nor felt the joys of day, or night. For it was not just the sun she missed but the stars and moon aswell.
After resting a while under the shades of draping Oak, Emowyn let out a long, high whistle. She paused, her elf ears alert in a cat like readiness. Again she blew the note. The soft thunder of hooves on grass and stone beat in a rythem towards her until a large, Palomino stallion was at her side. Attaching a strip of leather onto the bridal with a leaf clasp, and throwing a basic rug over its back, The ranger mounted her steed. She leant forward slightly and wispered softly into its ear, "Noro lim Alvealoth, noro lim." with this the stallion bound off over the ground like a bolt of creamy light. It was for this he had been named Star-like.

Elrond rushes him to the sick bay. A day later, Calmerath died.

With a last glance at her father, Bethelarien nudges her horse forward. Then she rides in a full gallop, swiftly catching up with the others. And though no one else saw, tears streamed down her face.
Celebrien spurred his horse on to catch up with the others and was soon even with Charmiana. He was about to say something when an arrow went whizzing by his face, nearly striking Charmiana's horse. "Down! Everyone down!" he said and grabbed a low hanging tree branch, then pulled himself into the tree. He jumped with agility through the trees and soon found the orc archers. With surprising quickness he dropped from the trees onto the leader's shoulders and slit his throat. He then jumped lightly back into the trees. The orcs turned and saw their fallen leader. Another fell with a knife in his throat. The orcs began to scatter in various directions. Celebrien jumped from tree to tree back to the company. "Hide! And ready your bows! There will be orcs coming from those woods any minute now." He readied Anglachel in its' sheath and then prepared to charge.

"It has been a long time since any creature dared come this close to Rivendell without my father's permission. Perhaps they need a reminder why!" And with that, Bethelarien readies her bow. Her tears are gone now, and her hands are steady as she waits for a target.
OOC: Now that was strange....We left Rivendell, and arrived at the Trollshaws, and then magically we came back to Rivendell, then left again, then went back to Rivendell again, and then finally left for a third time.....
Please, could people read the previous posts so that doesn't occur again?
IC: As the other prepared for the onslaught, Chokang, who had been ignored by the elves again, reappeared.
"I shall have to prove my worth to these elves, otherwise I shall not gain their respect and trust." he thought.
And so, Chokang pulled out his War Axe and charged into the woods, yelling "Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-męnu!!!"
The others looked on in awe for a few seconds as the orc arrows flew past Chokang's head.
Celebrien snapped out of his daze, and shouted to the others, "Quickly! Go and help Chokang, the silly dwarf will get himself killed otherwise!!"

Liat & Tauron charged after Chokang, Tauron firing a bolt from his
cross bow ( the ork it was aimed for grunted in surprise) Liat drawing her sword. She grinned wolfishly at Chokang as she rode past him.
"For the woodland realms!" Celebrien shouted and charged down the slope of the hill they were on to the small valley in between the hills and the forest. Suddenly, more orcs burst from the forest riding Wargs. He sheathed his sword and drew his knives. Chokang, to his left, had already slain several orcs but he was weakening fast. Celebrien rushed to save him.

Still mounted on her horse, Bethelarien drew back out of the battle. She could shoot more safely when away from the enemy. When she saw the predicament of the fellowship, however, she put away her bow, drew her sword, and charged.
"For my father, and Rivendell!"
Chokang was slowly becoming overwhelmed by the orcs. His throwing axes were spent, and his War Axe had been notched, and was now using his Bearded Axe. He had seen Liat and Tauron fly past him on horseback, but had not seen nor heard from them since.
In the distance, he could see Bethelarien working her way into the host of orcs.
Celebrien was showing the orcs no content what so ever, having killed at least 3 dozen already, and was now only twenty metres away.
Suddenly, eight orcs dropped onto Chokang from an overhead tree, and started beating him with their clubs. Chokang had managed to slay three of them before he was struck on the back of the head.
Everything went black....

Tauron stood alone at the top of the hill arrows streaking from his cross bow everyone finding it's home.
He'd let his horse go & he could just see out of the corner it trampolling an orc....
A low groan issued from Liat as an orc's sword bit into her left arm, already weakened she fell at Chokang's feet, in a low baerly audible whisper she murmerd

Taron seeing that Celebrien and Bethelarien were now out numbered by many to one, he raced down the hill, drawing his sword in the style that Liat's own had done but no war cry issed from his mouth.
Fighting his way despartly towards the fallen elf and dwarf, Taron signaled to Celebrien to cover him. Taking is small phial from his cloak, he passed it beneath the darve's nose. ChoKang came round with a quick grunt and groaned, Liat however did not regain conciousness.

Celebrien saw that Taron was hard pressed defending Liat, who was still unconscious. He ducked and orc's scimitar, then stabbed his stomach. He drew his sword and fought his way through the re-grouping orcs to Taron. The Warg-riders came bursting through the ranks leaping towards the still-groggy Chokang and fallen Liat. As the orcs came on, she split her attention between the battle and her companions, watching, so that she could aid any of her fallen comrades. Seeing that Chokang was still rather groggy, she called out to Celebrien. "Help me get Chokang on my horse! He'll be killed if he stays on the ground much longer!"

IC: Glarin did not see why everyone else was so intense and fierce, it was best to stay calm in a fight, for you do not concentrate when you are angry, and therefore do not fight as well. "All well," he shrugged, "I'll just have to do it my way and show the rest how well it works." Glarin drew Vorondir (or whatever that sword of the West was called) and calmly sliced through several orcs, quickly working his way over to his companions.

"However. He is now defenseless. We cannot kill a defenseless prisoner, no matter how foul or evil he seems. To do so would be to become the very thing that we detest." She drew a deep breath.

Charmiana whispered to Glarin "I would not mention Celebriens mother... can you not see how it hurts him. He is strong, and he shows it in his mercy. Would you have him forfeit that strength, it may be all that keeps us going, if the fights continue like they have started." With that Charmiana walked away disgustd, she did not want to continue in this converesation...she had said her part and if they were not affected by it, well thhey might not be affected by anything.

I wasn't trying to get business out of you. Why would I do that when I didn't have anything to sell? just trying to find out if there's anything I need to know about our mission, is all. Lossenandunewen, then standing near Tolir and Glarin turned around angrily.
"Master Tolir, we are here to save humanity. We put our lives in danger for you, and speak only of selling your masters stupid toys! We do not need any of that now, I don't think any of us will really need that. You take that slow, fat horse of yours and stride in after battle. A collegue has been wounded, and the rest of us aren't in the brightest of hearts to hear your sales pitch today."
She gave Glarin a glance, suggesting that maybe the horse hadn't been the reason he missed all the action. She turned and stalked off to her mare, and calmed herself by singing a soft tune into the horses ear.

Glarin saw that Charmiana was angry with him, and said to her, "I was not trying to bother or upset Bethelarien with my comment, I was simply trying to help her make a decision. I too, have lost a family member to the hands of those foul creatures. My identical twin brother, Glorin, was taken by the orcs, or so it is believed, for he went off to hunt them once, and never returned, he was out for vengeance upon our sister, who was killed by the orcs of the East, who are much crueler and fouler than these here in the West. My comment was simply to kindle a flame in her heart, and keep her going with this journey, what I said will motivate her more, and with the thought of her mother in her head, she will be unstoppable, and no evil will stand a chance against her. And yes I did wish to kill that orc, for reasons I have said." He then went out of her presence and climbed a tree, looking towards the East and his home, and thought of his family.

As Chokang finished the arduous task of sharpening his axe, he looked up to see the elves in a non too happy mood. Their discontent seemed to be aimed at himself, and the newly arrived human.
"Those stubborn elves, always complaining about how inferior everyone else is to them!" grumbled Chokang to himself.
At this stage, Chokang honestly wished that he hadn't joined this company.
"Oh well," thought Chokang, "An oath is an oath, and I'm bound to it till the end.
Chokang then walked up to Celebrien, and got his attention.
"I believe that we should get the company moving again, Celebrien," advised Chokang, "the orcs which escaped will not be too happy about their losses, and will be back soon with reinforcements. We should start heading north, as I assume that we are now west of the Ettenmoors, and now have a clear pass to Carn Dum."

Liat returned to the group with an armful of fire wood, she dumped it onto the fire before walking over to her horse & removing her flute from one of her saddle bags. She then went & sat next to Bethelarien & began to play a happy jig in the hope of lightening the mood.
It seemed to work although as many of the saddened faces began to lift in spirit. Liat felt relived as it had been a while since she had been on a quest with a group of people & she was finding it hard enough to fit in without hostile feelings between other members of the party.
Tauron stood away from the rest of the party grooming his horse. He couldn't help but feel excluded from the rest of the party's chatter & arguments. He wanted to join in, share veiws & discuss the journey ahead but he couldn't. This feeling of inadequacy remined him of why he'd left his family, freinds & fellow elves behind to journey with Liat in the first place. With a small sigh he wandered off into the forest to get more fire wood.

As Chokang was scouting ahead of the rest of the company, he was at full alert.
"Hmm, this is troll country, I must be extremely cautious." Chokang muttered to himself.
To the east, he could see the Ettenmoors, and behind them, the Misty Mountains. In the sky, he saw a flock of crows fly overhead.
Having travelled a fair distance ahead, Chokang halted his pony, and waited for the others to catch up.
"Those infernal elves have probably stopped for a sing-a-long or something!" grumbled Chokang, as he sat down underneath a large willow tree.
As the shadows slowly moved along the ground, Chokang was becoming more and more impatient, and hungry for that matter.
"What I wouldn't do for a leg of mutton..." mused Chokang.
And to his complete and utter surprise, a herd of five fat sheep walked right in front of him!
Chokang was considering the option of jumping up to kill one of them, when the ground shook violently.
"Oh ****! I hate it when that happens," thought Chokang, "only bad things eventuate from it."
Chokang was just about to mount his pony and escape from the danger, when five large hill trolls bounded out from a clump of trees, and started attacking the terrified sheep with their huge wooden clubs.
Chokang knew that he was in immense danger, and that he had to get back to the others. And so he started sneaking away from the trolls.
He had not gone more than ten metres when he heard a tremendous growl come from the trolls, and the sound of footsteps approaching.
As they charged towards him, Chokang turned around, withdrew his war axe, and prepared to meet his doom...

OOC: Yikes! Hi, I'm a Gemini! Anyways, Oo! I have a great idea that would make this a better RPG! No offense to people who love the plot twist of having almost everybody seem distant and standoffish! How's about we all be a little more open, a little less hostile, and stop jumping to the most negative conclusion every chance we get? Yeah, I just might be trying to stop a lot of fun, but I happen to have noticed that RPGs can move along much smoother when not all of the characters hate each other. Gasp! Yes, as crazy as it sounds, I'm not just being evil and selfish just for Tolir. He's my least favorite of all my characters. I'm just trying to help the RPG, even though I'm not a big elf fan.

The rest of the group dash off to meet Chokang, Celebrien, and Lossenandunewen a safe distance from the trolls, who were still looking dumbly at the place the pony had been.
"Master Dwarf, you should not wander off like that. And we should avoid as many battles as we can. We will let the trolls be for now, and continue our quest."
OOC: Now we can continue the quest and get as far away from Rivendell as possible.... and maybe later when we still arent WAY WAY AWAY from Rivendell, but away from it and its been awhile... maybe those 5 trolls can surprise attack us with a few orcs... (just a suggestion...)

Far from where the company now rested, in the lands of the east, an elvin Lady upon a Palomino hunter, rode through the gates of Mirthdor. Dis-mounting Alvealoth, the lady rushed into a large council hall where stood a lone figure, reading the engraved runes upon the walls. His hair was long and blonde, and he wore a silver shirt with silver fastenings and dark grey pants.
"Suilad Legolas, Q Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo." (Greetings Legolas, A star shall shine on the hour of our meeting) The elf-archer turned to face the maiden and smiled.
"Aaye Emowyn, Oio naa elealla alasse', Nae saian luume...’"(Hail Emowyn, Ever thy sight is a joy,it had been too long...)
The lady nodded and walked towards him.
"Indeed it has, Legolas, for it has been many years since I have been able to ride through Mirkwood, or for you to arrive in Mirthdor."
"I trust you are still well?" Emowyn nodded,
"Indeed, although with the talk of darkness which now covers both East and West, a fear a shadow has fallen upon the fair Mirthdor."
Legolas took up her hand, "Fear not fair lady, hope remains. A company has set forth from Rivendell have they not?"
"They rode out no less than a day before I arrived here, lead by Celebrien and Glarin of the East."

Once they had stopped for the night, Bethelarien went in search of those who were to accompany her on the hunt. Finding Tarakaliel, Calimhetar, and Lossenandunewan, she instructs them to get their things and follow her.
"Be sure you are absolutely silent, we do not want to scare off the game," she tells them. And with that, they disappear into the woods.
After the hunting party left, Chokang went and sat down at the fire. He hadn't spoken a word since Lossenandunewen had saved him from the trolls.
"To think..." he muttered to himself, "To think that I should owe my life to an elf..."
In his heart, Chokang knew that it would be very difficult to hate the First Born ever again.
Celebrien came and sat near the dwarf, who was staring into the fire. Neither said anything for a long time. Finally Celebrien spoke haltingly "Chokang, I hope you are happy to be in this company. I do not know about the others, but I for one will treat you as equal. Any feud I may have had with Dwarves is long forgotten. I do not think that the others will do you any wrong either. Just remember, you are one our Fellowship now. Anybody should be proud of that, man, dwarf or elf! Well, goodnight Chokang I am going to turn in now." And with that he got up and begin to set up his bedroll slightly outside the firelight.

"Not a love lost, Charmiana, but my family. All dead, and I know not even how. I hardly even knew them, for I was so young when they left that there are only small memories left. You are right though, I will come and eat, just let me think alone a few minutes longer." She got up and left silently as he had requested.
Chokang couldn't stand the sight of Celebrien sitting on his own. Celebrien had comforted him in Rivendell, and he knew that he had to somehow fulfil that debt. He walked up to Celebrien, and sat down next to him.
"What wrong Celebrien?" Chokang asked cheerfully, "There is fresh food available at the moment, you'd better hurry up before Tolir eats it all!"

Having finished eating Liat wandered over toward Celbrien & Chokang. Sitting crosslegged infront of the two of them she looked up into Celbriens eyes " i cannot stand to see a fellow creature unhappy, if ever you feel you need to talk i will always be there" turning to the rest of the group she raised her voice slightly " that applys to all of you, i came on this quest at the summons of Elrond, not knowing who i would travel with or what i would encounter, you all are far superior to what i could ever have hoped for, & i hope that i may be of service to you all, human, dwarf & elf alike so long as this fellowship stands."
Embarrased by this sudden speech she rose & returned to her bed-rool & sleep.
"All right, I will come and eat" Celebrien said, "besides, the smell of the stewing rabbit is killing me." With that he gave a small chuckle and a smile, then produced a plate from his pack. "If you would be so kind to give me some Ewen, I would be most grateful...and less starving!"

Lossenandunewen filled up a bowl of stew for him, and smiled.
"It is great to see you eating. We will definately need your strength and leadership for this quest! We cannot let you waver now."
She handed him the stew and she took hers and sat next to the fire.

Stew in hand, Bethelarien sat next to Ewen. Hearing Celebrien talk of his family reminded her painfully of her own, and she missed them desperately. However, she knew she must be strong, for the sake of the group. She must not let Celebrien falter or fall into despair or heartache. Thinking this, she began to sing. In Imladris, her voice had been praised as one of great beauty and comfort, and she had sung many times with Isal Celebalda, the love of her life. She began a song now, one meant to comfort. As she sang, all hearts were lifted up and rejoiced.

Tarakaliel listened carefully to the song. It was relaxing and beautiful. She has never felt so comfortable in so long, and it had been sometime since she had heard singing. She eats her stew quietly in peace. It had been a long time since Tarakaliel traveled with big group that she stayed silent for most of the time.

"Remember Celebrein those lost now are not lost for ever,"
"That is true, they abide now in Valinor where I will someday hopefully make my way as well...so now that I think more on it, it is not as sad as I originally thought. Thank you all for cheering me!" and with the last words he finished his final bite and rinsed his plate, then stowed it in his pack. "Thank you Ewen, that was delicious, I will turn in now goonight all."

"yes goodnight." and with that Charminana went ot sleep, if that is what one would call sleep for elves have a different kind of rest.
Having already slept whilst the hunters were away, Chokang decided that he should 'help' the others by cutting down a few trees for the fire.
All that he succeeded in doing though, was to keep all the elves awake.

"Chokang you do not have to try and please us all the time. I do not try to always please the others and if I did I would end up pleasing none. If you are not tired try scouting though I am sure you will find NOTHING." With that Charmiana continued singing softly to the heavens.
After being told off by Charmiana, Chokang walked away from the camp to have a look around, whilst grumbling about how ungrateful Elves could be.

Tárakaliel looked up into the sky. Her eyes were heavy and she needed a good rest. She laided back, shut her eyes, and fell into a deep sleep.

Lossenandunewen appeared before chokang, away from sight and sound of the campers.
"I sense your hostility. But master dwarf, you must realize that we, being a different race from you do things differently. Elves need rest, though not much, and the trees have life. Would you like it if a tree cut your arm off to make their fire?"
He looked at her and laughed.
"A tree? cut my arm off for fire? So elves are not as intelligent as they seem!"
Lossenandunewen glared at him.
"You believe me not now, but should you ever stumble into Fangorn, they may not make a fire out of you but you best be weary of them. There are many things dwarves will never understand of nature, spending their lives in caves. And many things us elves will never know of the caves. I hope the trees of fangorn would show you mercy should you trespass, but I tell you now: if you cut down their branches, don't expect any. And do not consider this a threat, as it is a good hearted warning. We must work together, we must put this grudge behind us."
She dissappeared soundlessly, and retreated into a tall tree for her rest.

"I might not wish them to show you mercy," called Charmiana, "Unless you shut up, and excuse my lnguage but you seem to be missing the sutle hints that I keep giving you." and with that she went to sleep.
There were no more interruptions till the next day awhen the golden eye of the sun rose from itss home in the hills, and with it the rising of all the elves though a Chokang who had eventually fallen asleep did not rise so quickly.

*having never been anything even remotely resembling a morning person, Tolir grumbles softly to himself when everybody starts getting ready to leave, he packs away whatever stuffs he's bringing, then finds that Lossenandunewen lady* "Excuse me, miss. sorry. I know that you're not very friendly, but I thought I'd just point out that caves are a part of nature. Well, I had heard you talking to that Dwarf last night. I've dealt with elves and I've dealt with Dwarves. I was practically raised by Dwarves, though, and I have no idea why you wouldn't count their homes as nature. oh well. I just didn't understand that. Good food last night, by the way!" *heads off to ready his horse, then find that Dwarf to talk to*

"you seem to have misunderstood me Tolir. I'm am unfriendly because I still hold suspicions about you. I do understand, caves are nature. Just not my form of nature. To me, nature is what grows and flowers, what lives, breathes and eventually dies. This is my nature" She made a motion to the trees and grass.
"Perhaps if you prove your loyalty to the well being of life, then I shall begin to soften up on you, but now is not the time. Your time of truth will come, much like the rest of us. Would you care for some breakfast?"
She began to ration out the leftover stew, and the waking members began to come over for their morning meals.

*just a little bit confused by her talk of being suspicious of him and thinking that he doesn't care about life, then being pleasant and asking if he wants some breakfast, Tolir decides not to mess with this lady too much unless she approaches him first* "Mm! Yes, thank you! Not as good as I'm used to, but that's fine. We probably just don't have the extra ingredients." *relaxes for a minute, sitting around what's left of the fire, waiting for word to move north again*
Whilst loading his gear onto his pony, Chokang stayed as far away from the elves as possible. After the previous night's argument with Charmiana and Ewen, Chokang had gone back to his old ways of completely distrusting Elves.
"Moving trees! Bah!" muttered Chokang, "Those Elves have gone mad, they've probably drunk too much wine...."
Having packed everything before the Elves, Chokang straddled his pony, and yelled to the Elves,
"I'll go scout ahead, and do not disturb me! I wish not to be accompanied by Elven-kind today."
And with that, Chokang set off to the north, leaving all the Elves with bemused, yet concerned looks on their faces.
