The Story A long while back, while walking in the forest one day, Ganfred Lorebrow stumbles upon a sword. Not knowing of its great powers, he pickes it up and takes it for his own. After talking to a couple of friends about his findings, they say it is the Sword of Doom, the most powerful and infamous sword in all of Middle Earth. It was used by the evil Molgath when he killed the Elven king, Marin Snowarrow. He has been sence killed by the elven army, and the sword was lost for years to come. It is now known as the Sword of Doom, for it still as lots of evil power left in it. Now Molgath's son, Molgan, is on a quest to take back his fathers sword and continue where his father left off in trying to take over Middle Earth. Molgan has sent out 8 men, in groups of two, to different parts of Middle Earth to find where the Sword of Doom is hiding, and the Molgan will more than likely send out more and more men until the Sword of Doom is retreived and is in his possesion. That means it is Ganfred's job to make sure the sword stays out of Molgan's possesion at all costs.
IC: Ganfred stumbles into the Prancing Pony soaking from the downpour outside. "Could I have a room?", he asks. "Sure.......let me check to see whats open.......room 107, right this way..." answers the innkeeper. Ganfred follows the innkeeper up a flight upstairs and down a hall until he reaches room 107. "Heres your room, sir." the innkeeper says. "Thank you. Good-bye for now." Ganfred walks into his room, sets down his possesions, and walks downstairs towards the bar.
After of hours of drinking and gossiping, Ganfred walks back up to his room, and plops onto the bed. After a few minutes of laying down and looking at the roof, he remembers something. "I need to check to see that my items are all in order." After checking through his items, he realises something is missing. "MY SWORD!" he cries out. "WHERE IS IT!?" after searching for about an hour, he decides that one of Molgan's men took it.
In the morning, Ganfred gets up in a hurry, and puts a sign outside the Prancing Pony says.

*after parking their wagon outside, three peddlers notice the sign outside before heading in for relaxation, Trahald the Tainted, a black, weaselly looking, corsair of Umbar kind of guy, Boffin, a simple looking and wide-eyed Dwarf, and Tolir, a huge, half scary, half harmless looking hulk of a human, Tolir and Boffin head for the bar where they try to find some free stools so they can order, Trahald steps right up to the innkeeper* "Pardon me, sir. I'll take the biggest room you have available. Oh, and do you know anything about the sign outside? Where can I find whoever it is that needs help?"

"Ok, umm... room #109 would be our biggest. Here ya go." Innkeeper hands Trahald keys. Then he thinks for a moment. "And about the sign, I'm not sure, but....oh yes, I remember now! There was a dwarf here last night. He was all wet from the pouring rain because we had a huge rainstorm last night. He was complaining about something, a sword I believe. It wasn't my buisness to be asking about it. If I remember right, he is staying in room #107, right across the hall from your room. Pretty convienent, don't ya think..."

"Awfully. Thanks a lot." *sees that Boffin and Tolir are occuppied by their drinks, so he motions to them that he'll be back in a minute, checks out their room for himself, then knocks on the #107 door*

Ganfred hears a knock on the door. He walks over to answer it. "Hello. Are you intrested in helping me with me quest? If so, step inside, and we can talk and wait for others to show up."

*surprised at the hospitality of the Dwarf, Trahald walks in, deciding that this guy must be pretty desperate* "Yes, I'm here to help you if what you need help with is possible. I have two friends with me that will also help. Should I go get them now?"

"Okay, I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere. I had hoped to do some trading in this town, but working for you could be much more profitable." *Trahald walks out and grabs Boffin and Tolir back at the bar* "Come on. I think I found something more exciting than haggling with the shopkeepers around here. Some Dwarf needs some help with finding something." *leads the two back to Room #107* "Here we all are. Now, what is it that needs our help?"

"Welcome, Boffin. Welcome, Tolir. Nice to meet you two. The problem seems to be that someone has stolen my sword. I know you three are thinking, big deal, but if you understood the power and history uncealed in this sword, you would understand. I will explain it to you three later, for it is too long to explain now. All I will tell you now is I suspect that Molgan is sending out men to try to get the sword, for it has the power in it that he wants, and the reason that the sword is missing is proably one of Molgan's men has gotten a hold of it and is on his way to Molgan at this moment. Now, shall we wait for others or shall we leave this instant?"

*Boffin and Tolir look superly interested in learning more, but Trahald just leans up against a wall nonchalantly* "Whatever you decide. You're the boss. How did you know who my companions were, by the way? Are we really that famous in this town? Ah, well. Oh, and I never did catch your name."

"I've seen the faces before. I'm glad it wasn't someone else. I recall I was leaving the Prancing Pony and you three were trading outside of it and I saw your faces and the trader spoke your names, and you told me you guys were traders, so I figured it was you three. My name is Ganfred Lorebrow. I think we shall wait at least a day or two for more companions."

"Ganfred, then. Well, we'll be in our room right across the hall if we're not trading in town. Boffin, Tolir, come on. He'll tell us more if other people show up to help him." *the three all go back to the bar section, where Boffin and Tolir proceed to sample the local ale and Trahald tries to socialize*

Resbrita the Wanderer walked down the streets of Bree, trying to take in everything in one eyeful. It had been months since the Kachita girl had come to any town, (having been wandering in in the wilderness for so long) so walking through one again was almost like seeing one for the first time. Eventually she spotted the inn with a sign of a fat pony on it. "The Prancing Pony," the sign said. Resbrita was about to walk in to get a room for the night when something else caught her eye. There was a sign asking for people to join someone on a quest. Finally, thought Resbrita. Something to do. She stepped inside the inn and walked up to the front desk. "Um...Excuse me...sir," Resbrita said shyly to the innkeeper, "But I saw a sign outside the door that asked for...help with a...quest. Do you...do you happen to know where this person is who is needing the helping?"
The innkeep didn't notice the girl until she had repeated her question again. "Oh yes, miss, he's in Room 107. Would you be wanting a room for yourself as well?"
"That would be lovely, thank you," said Resbrita.
"Hm..." said the innkeep, "well, we have a small room which would accompany you well, I think. It's room 201. Here's your key, miss."
"Th...Thank you," the girl said, taking the key and quietly walking away.
Resbrita walked down the corridor until she found her room, then dumped her few belongings in the room. She kept with her only her dart launcher and a handful of darts. She never let her dart launcher out of her sight.
Resbrita came to the room numbered 107 and knocked softly. The door opened and a man's face poked out.

Resbrita meekly walked into the room with a muttered "thank you." She tried to drop her built-in shyness for a few minutes and conjur up the confidence that she was always told was a promintent characteristic of her people, the Kachitas. Resbrita looked at the dwarf and smiled. She had seen very few, and the girl liked the dwarves very much.
"My name is Resbrita of the Kachita Lands, and yes, good sir, I have come to help. You might be wondering why a stranger would be so eager to help another stranger, and my reason is that I simply enjoy helping people." Resbrita lowered her head slightly. "I know a great warrior like you may not need the help of someone like me, but I can help. I'm learned in the Kachita art of moving while making the natural sounds of my surroundings, a trick that very much comes in handy while sneaking about. I also carry a dart-launcher and darts loaded with various toxins." She met the dwarf's eyes again. "Now you are looking for something, yes?"
"That's right," said the dwarf.
"Ok. Just making sure I was talking to the right person. These are troubled times, yes? I suppose you'll let me know when it is time to leave..." She opened the door again to leave, but stopped and turned around. "Sorry, sir, I did not catch your name."
"Ganfred," the dwarf replied.
"Well then, goodnight, Master Ganfred." Resbrita gave a little bow and exited the room, thinking, I did not know I could be that assertive. She smiled.
