I'll post it again. This was here for a while but I got no feedback and figured noone really cared for it, but I'll put it back.

Wow! That's really great! The bold colours and dark black lines give it a very dramatic feel.

I'll go ahead and put this out there too. I had to crop it down because the file was so big it wouldn't attach so you can't really see any of the background which is what I was really concentrating on the most.

Spiffy art! How do you do it?
btw, I merged your two threads together and renamed the new thread "Doomseeker's Gallery", so it complies with the way this guild works. Post any new art on here. :)

Thanks for fixing all that for me. I wasn't sure how to go about organization. I just draw it in pencil. Ink it, scan it, and photoshop all the colors and textures. Helps to pass the time while I'm at work if we're slow.

Wow!
The detail!
It's...wow! I'm so impressed! Great job!
I LOVE the way you put Legolas in front of those awesome trees, and the Aragorn picture is so fierce!
Awesome!

Hi,
Here is a picture I just finished of Gimli. It's the same situation as with my Sauron picture.
To view it you'll have to copy and paste this link. It doesn't work by clicking it.

Those are great!
Did you do those all on computer or start with a hand drawing and work from there?
Doomseeker

Here is my picture of Arwen. Not Liv Tyler ish but I thought she looked more like an elf this way. And what I do in response to Wonkos ? is draw them out and scan the line art then color them in Photoshop.
Enjoy
You'll have to copy and paste this link.

I forgot to update that. It was linking off of an old website that I don't use any more. Back to the geocities copy and pasting links. :(
Anyways it should work now. :)

Comments: WOW!! :) That's awesome!
:) she's slightly disproportionate in the torso. It's just too long...and her hips should be a bit wider...if you widen the hips and move them higher up though it'd be perfect!
She's amazing! I love the background and water stuff!

I love it! Fierce!Arwen.... I also like the daring look the short skirt gives her.
Wonko The Sane
04-03-2003, 08:59 AM
Why is a short skirt daring?
Shadowfax
04-03-2003, 09:05 AM
Because you can see her legs, and the stance they have, as if she's steady and leaning against the current- also it is artistically daring to draw arwen in a short skirt. It also seems REALLY daring to me, 'cause I never wear anything other than jeans, slacks, or long skirts.
Wonko The Sane
04-03-2003, 09:12 AM
Hmm...
I don't know if I can go for the short skirt look but in the pic it DOES look awesome.
Daring is a good word for it! ;)

Thanks for the input. I always struggle with making the torso on females not too long. I did however lose the battle with Arwens, after I colored it I didn't feel like going back and trying to shrink it down. I thought the shorter dress would be nice for a change.:)

more to come?
Doomseeker
04-07-2003, 04:21 PM
Yeah, I'm working on another project at the moment but my plans are to do either one of the Ringwraiths, an Orc, or maybe one of the hobbits.

ohhhh...ringwarith...looking forward to that one.

I want to draw a ringwraith or an orc as well...
But I don't have the drive to start one up. :-/

Ok so I've been out of the the LOTR drawings for awhile now working on some other stuff but thought that I'd start back with a tribute to the Doomseekers the world over.
I used a production still as a reference for this but was happy with the results.

That's so awesome. I am always impressed by you people who do this stuff on computer. I still haven't even mastered MS paint!

cool
i have seen something similar to that in another gallery.
But i think it has a different background!

Ok so this isn't Cate Blanchet, this was the Galadriel that I pictured while reading the books. A little more aluring. Or somewhat like this except for the slightly mangled hands. I was trying not to make her look too skiny but I think I may have went overboard. Hope this big of a change doesn't offend anyone, but my stuff never looks correct with the movies anyways.
"Here is the Mirror of Galadriel,' she said. 'I have brought you here so that you may look in it, if you will"

Here is my Smaug picture.
You'll notice he either has some really big jewels and stuff shoved in his skin or he's just a smaller baby version. It was fun but I couldn't really get into it too much for some reason. On to Frodo next.

He looks AWESOME!!! I Love it! :) He's so...glowy.

He looks a bit unproportionate but oh well I'll never probably get anything proportioned right anyways.:(

Here is my Manwë drawing.
Everyone please feel free to tell me flaws or incorrections about it. The only description I could find was that he wears blue to match his eyes or something. I may have made him out to look more like a warrior than he is. I haven't finished the book yet but anyways it was fun to come up with something for a character you don't see much of.:)

Thinking about doing an online fan art comic. This was just a concept for a character I came up with. There should've been more girls in those stories.:)

Here is my picture of Eowyn I just finished.
She's all dressed for battle. But c'mon how dumb does a big group of guys have to be to realize that this hot girl is right in the middle of them.
Ok my drawing isn't all that hot looking but you know the story.:D

Wow! You computer artists amaze me- never in a million years could I get something like that done with a computer! Great job!
Wonko The Sane

the last three are my faves! :) The girl is gorgeous, Eowyn is PERFECT, and Gandalf is briliant! :)
Note on the disproportioned Frodo: It's his head. It's too big.
And I don't like Sam, but I must admit, that's a great picture of him. :) Much better than Sean Astin. Pfft. :)

Just finished. Took me about 9 hours in all. This comes from the Silmarillion if some of you haven't read it. For those that have you'll recognize it.
"The wolf howls. The ravens flee.
The ice mutters in the mouths of the sea.
The captives sad in Angband mourn."

I love the contrast between the darker half of the page and lighter half.
Is that computer or real life painting?

It's a drawing I scanned in and then colored in photoshop with a paintbrush set at about 55% opacity so that when the strokes overlapped it would more resemble paint.

Wow. :) It's beautiful.
I'll have to try that 50% opacity thing next time I mess around with Paintshop and my scans. :)

Here is my newest. It's my first attempt at drawing myself. I did it like this cause I like fantasy art. If anyone ever wants a challenge try drawing yourself. It took me 3 times to be satisfied with the resullts. :)
here is a closeup.
I'll put the full pic in the next post.

Doomseeker can you please help me out here. I can't seem to get your pics when you have to copy and paste the link. It won't work for me for some reason. Is there any way you can post those as an attachment.
Btw your pictures are amazing. I wish I could draw and use photoshop like you do. Good job.

I had forgotten some of them were in that geocities account and I cleaned it all out a few weeks ago. I still have them and will just attach them here in the next few days or so. They are on my work computer since that's where I do the majority of my stuff at. Thanks for liking them. :)

Just more practice at doing portraits with a Wacom tablet. Plus I've always hated the first Arwen I submitted here. This one still has some issues though. Comments are always welcome as is critiques.

Fantastic! Absolutely!!!
Please, tell me, did you first draw a picture and then after scanning finish it in the Photoshop?

Thanks for the comment. :)
Yes I usually just do some sort of light line-work to scan in for placement purposes. This I drew out at 11x14. Scanned it in at 300dpi, so it's pretty large.
Here's the original pencil drawing.

But then, how does the programme recognize the different layers so that you can work on them? When you scan the drawing doesn't the program take it as one layer only?
Oh! And why don't you show another masterpiece of yours? :)

You add layers in Photoshop... your drawing is the bottom one, and you draw on other layers on top of it, like sheets of transparencies layered on top of one another
