i was wondering if anyone could help me translate this poster i have. it's from the original paperback box-set of lotr and it's got a purple swirly background on it with elvish words going down it and J. R. R. Tolkien in the middle. i don't have an elvish font so i can't exactally type it...i also can't find an elvish alphabet online so i can try to figure out what the letters are. Anyone have any ideas?

Translation as best as I can translate.

"New/Now
Record
New/Now
Book
Speksu
_nj set to
music"

I can't really make out wht Speksu _nj would be saying. I'm sure I've translated that part wrong.

thanks so much. i'm pretty sure this is a poster advertising tolkien's readings of lotr from caedmon records...so the translation makes sense
new record
new book
j.r.r tolkien
speaks and
is set to
music
:D

I got RECORD and BOOK and SPEAKS AND IS SET TO
I didn't get Cirth 28 meaning "new" though.
How in the world is the last word music?

How in the world is the last word music? Cirth 28 = NW which to me can only = New or Now
26 = M
41 = - (don't understand that either
43 = U
36 = SS or Z
46 = E
18 = K

So you have M-uZek.. maybe the dash is to hold the M sound otherwise this would tend to be moosic insteady of mmusic.

In Angerthas Moria Cirth 40 is used as 'y'
so I guess perhaps MYUZEK = music. Weird.

Correct. I was looking at Daeron's Cirth table which assigned no value to 40 or 41 whereas Moria's Cirth table has the value you suggested. ;)
