I don't know if I should join one.
Is this the guild for me?
What makes an outcast?
Do I have to be a Gollum fan?
Are there any weird initiation rites I should know about?
Does being descended from 18th century convicts qualify me for outcast status?

first, you can join as many guilds as you want and can keep up with. i'm in four, just for an example.
You dont have to be a smegol fan, just a fan of the underdog.
an outcast is:
Official Poem of the Illustrious Guild Of Outcasts:
maybe your short, maybe your fat
maybe your not quite perfect or not even that
maybe they hate you
those people at school
they leave you out as a general rule
They say your an outcast..........
Maybe your weird, or maybe too tall
Maybe your not good looking at all
Maybe you dont dress like they do
Or put your left foot, in your right shoe
They say your an outcast
Maybe your proud to not be a clone
to pretend to have friends but be all alone
cause thats what they do
those people who call you-
an outcast..........
so next time someone says "outcast!" to you
just calmly reply-"why thank you!"
Someone of that sort. You are an outcast i you want to be, no initiation, and i think you cant be a member of those special "age classified" guilds, unless that was changed and i didnt notice.

Welcome Sador.
You might feel at home in The Guild of Ost-in-Edhil, most of us are in the prime, mature, ripe years of our lives;)
Feel free to pop along, though be quiet, some of the older folk take long naps in the afternoons:D
J/K, we are a varied bunch of misfits, finger-pointers and waglers but above all, Tolkien enthusiasts.

Yikes! People coming to the GOO to advertise other guilds? oh well. Maybe they're desperate.

Oh Yay, I'm sure you don't mind, especially after all the effort I went to to get you a guild n'all;)

Sure. I wouldn't mind pretty much anybody advertising in here. Anyways, I had no idea that you had anything to do with getting the GOO anywhere. How am I supposed to know that kind of craziness? oh well. I hate that winking smilie.

ummm... if you feel like peole don't understand you... if people reject you for any reason... or maybe (maybe, I don't know) if you just want to get our veiw of the world, and become more respectful and understanding of rejects.

Well it's nice to be welcomed.
You have your own official poem? Kinda like the mickey mouse club?
I may be 39 but I'm still waiting for maturity to kick in.
I've never been much of a joiner and I can't spend hours at a time on the net as my boss thinks I come to work to do other stuff.
I'll have to check out the old folks guild or whatever it is.
Well I'm tall, devastatingly handsome, gainfully employed, divorced, outrageously intelligent, modest and humble. And I don't have a sarcastic bone in my body. So of course I am constantly being rejected by the clones around me daunted by my manifest magnificence.
BTW how do I join a guild? just show up and post?

Every guild has a different policy for admission. Its usually stated in the "Official" thread or there may even be a "how to join thread" or something similar. Around here, alls ya gotta do is post in the "Stinky Official Stuffs" thread and ask Yay if you can join. Or I guess you can PM him. I don't think anyone has ever been denied membership, we love everybody!

I am not. I don't like Gollum, although, I am possibly one of the more sane members of GOO. *Ducks missiles thrown by assorted Gollum lovers and incensed maniacs*

Are there any weird initiation rites I should know about? Yes, when you join we make you smear your face in goats blood on the full moon before dancing round a bonfire naked whilst singing Bohemian Rhapsody. The heads of your vanquished foes hang on sticks around the fire. Although this particular initiation rite is optional.
I'm kidding ;)

you're almost garunteed to get in unless you've done something mean to yay, or a whole bunch of members....just post in Guild of outcasts stinky official stuff thread

Sounds like a cool person to me. Sure, you can join, dude. Why not? I'll stick your name on the list of members. No need to check out the stinky official stuffs thread. It's boring. Only around because I guess they're required.

Yes Australian.
Hate the stinky official stuff.
Am looking forward to the goats blood-smearing-circle-dancing initiation ceremony.
Much more fun than the masons!

Craziness. oh well. Sure thing. Welcome. Why not? Have fun. Why not? I should advertise certain threads for you to check out over here, but I'm sure you can find them. What can we use this thread for now? oh well.
Sador

You could use this thread to give a guide to the guilds...
What's Ost in Edhill? A bunch of serious sincere old folks.
Rangers? Elves?
Would they come over and bash us up if we started giggling at them?
YayGollum
02-23-2003, 04:00 AM
I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Anyways, I think I wrote some evil things about the other guilds somewhere in the stinky official stuffs thread or the GOO's first thread. I'll find it. Very crazy stuff.

Hey Yay I just took a quick peep at the guild of elves official thread.... are they for real? You can be punished for disobeying a senior elf!?!
You have to ask permission to post threads!?!
I bet their initiation rites include more than a bit of harmless nude dancing and goat's blood(dunno about the Queen song tho').

Yes, I am definitely not a fan of the guild of elves. Way too popular. oh well. Hey, hey, hey! Crazy people! You wanting me to get in trouble for the criticism of other guilds? Sure, what you're saying is true and I completely agree, but I doubt that these people would just forgive us for talking about them when they can't defend themselves. oh well. I wonder if I can just ask permission for a thread just to be evil to people that we hate? Well, I don't see anything wrong with saying evil things about people in the real life rantings thread. Sure. Do that, then. Still trying to find the craziness I wrote about the other guilds. Long threads to look through and no computer at home.

Thanks for the thought Yaygollum, but I don't want to get any one into trouble. Maybe I should apologise to our good friends the elves for my insolent sniggering.
I really do think they can run their guild however they want and I have no right to call them anything but dedicated fans.
So I think I should just leave it at that.
YayGollum
02-25-2003, 05:23 AM
Sure thing. Why not? I haven't noticed that those elf dudes are too evil when they're acting like average joes, anyways. You could insult worse people. Doobedoobedoo...

Dang, you beat me to it:p .
Actuly, the reason I haven't been posting here for the past week and a half is because;
1. The moniter broke on my computer
2. We've been on a school vacation:D , which means I can't get on my laptop at school:D :p
3. Once we get the moniter installed, the hard drive breaks, and we will get that between Wednesday and Friday
I will be online rarley this week because we are back from vacation and I am back on my computer. Now I am the last to welcome you, !:(

Well, I found my summary of the different guilds. Looks like the guilds have changed since I wrote this. oh well. I'm sure we can come up with other things for them.
The Illustrious Guild of Outcasts: for those without the talent for the guild of artists or the guild of writers, those without the nationality for the guild of Australians, those without the courage for the guild of mithril knights or the guild of soldiery, those without the experience for the guilds with weird names (the two age-specific guilds), those without the interest for the guild of politics, those without the need to show off for the guild of scholar's hall or the guild of Tolkienologists, those without the skills of the guild of tradesmen, those without the interest in power for the dork (Whoops! I mean dark!) legion or the white council. That kind of thing.
It would be for geeks, nerds, misunderstood artists so misunderstood that even the other misunderstood artists misunderstand them, the people who just don't fit in in real life.
In other words, it would be the guild for anyone here. If they deny this, then why would they even be at this site?
Wolfshead

You should put that summary in a sticky, lock it and leave it in the GOO forum for new members to read.
Dragon

OR the people who just plain aren't interested in all that stuffy (or non-stuffy.....you decide) stuff, and are looking for nice people who are just as misunderstood as they are.... 'cause you know, some of us DO fit the qualifications for those other places....they just aren't as much fun:rolleyes:
I'm soory, munchkin, I didn't mean to make you sad.....heehee maybe I did, but I wasn't trying to be mean...... :(
sorry about the computer stuff.....I was grounded this past week for a COMPLETELY *discreetly does a quick scan of the room for her mom * STUPID REASON!!!!! anyways, I won't get into details, but I was mad...

Hi! I would put some of my rants about the GOO into a sticky, but as far as I know, only Mods can do the evil sticky thing. Maybe I should PM somebody asking to stick something up at the top while I ask them for the little thing under our name again.
Wolfshead
03-08-2003, 10:59 AM
Just create a thread about them then, and ask a Mod to make it into a sticky. I'm sure the could do that :)
Ancalagon
03-08-2003, 12:14 PM
Just let me know what you need stuck and I'll stick it:)
As for your name, I forwarded the details to WM, though I would suggest you PM him directly Yay and ask him specifically for your description to be added...I think he was lost in the wording of the original.
