View Full Version : another inconsistency
In the FOTR EE DVD Galadriel says to Aragorn, as the company is about to leave Lorien during the gift giving sequence, "We shall not meet again". Obviously in the book Galadriel is present at the wedding of Arwen and Elessar. Just wondering what people think will be amended in the third film to avoid this inconsistency.
Plus do you think that they'll show all the crew (Gandalf, Hobbits, Galadriel +Celeborn, Elrond + sons) riding North via Rohan for Theoden's funeral and then on to Rivendell because that part is very nice as characters "bow out" of the book one by one/gradually.

I dont think anything needs to be amended. Galardriel doesn't have to be right in everything she says. she may not have known in Lorien at the time of FOTR how things would turn out.
She may still be seen at the wedding without any major hangups due to inconsistency.
Just my opinion ;)
I'd think that PJ would want to finish the movie off as quickly as possible after the climax of the movie (Destruction of The Ring).
So I'd think that after the wedding, they would go straight back to either Rivendell or the Shire, and then to finish off with the Grey Havens.

I think Galadrial believed, at that time that ...
One, Aragorn would fail ...
And also, remember, she knew (we didn't ) that supposedly Aragorn had let Arwen go ... that they had said goodbye. :'(
So in her mind there was no wedding. :'(
She was going to the undying lands ......
She did though call him Elessar!
As to the end I think PJ and company, will tie up all the loose ends ...

Galadriel can foresee lots of things that will happen, so I don't think she couldn't foresee that she would see Aragorn again. I dont know why PJ made her say that, maybe he won't let her come to the wedding or something.

I don't know why, but your reply struck me as funny, Niniel. This image popped into my head of PJ standing at the gates of Minas Tirith looking down a list of wedding invitees and telling Galadriel, "I'm sorry, but I don't see your name here...you shall not pass." :D

Yeah, I thought that too when I wrote it. It made me think of Galadriel's mama saying: 'No, you can't go with your big sister,' and Galadriel starting to cry.:)

Its very hard they will, they are going to have to cut out alot if they want to make a film with less than 3 hours. That means cutting out all the parts that don't have sucha big importance.
