    Hi,
I have a copy of the 2014 Harper Collins paperback edition of Unfinished Tales, which has a kind of stylized flower design on the cover (see attachment). This design has been used since the 6th impression of the 1998 Harper Collins paperback edition.
http://www.tolkienbooks.net/php/details.php?reference=64360 claims that the cover is "based on artwork by J.R.R. Tolkien". Does anyone know what the design is supposed to represent, if anything?
    Thanks in advance,
    Khîm :)

Anyone?? How about where the artwork came from?

It is in the same style as Tolkien's other artwork. But I couldn't find a picture of it in any of my limited number of books.

I found it in a book entitled "J.R.R. Tolkien: Author and illustrator"

Highly recommend it, as there are literally 200 drawings by Tolkien contained in it, ranging from 1904 (earliest I could find) to post LOTR.
