This is something that has stumped me for a while, so I'm curious if anyone here might know...

On the Fellowship Extended Edition DVD case (inside the Slipcase), there is what appears to be an elven heraldic device. I have not been able to find anything that says what it represents. It's clearly meant to be a male elf's device, but I cannot find that same device anywhere in "official" materials, much less "canon" material.

TTT's emblem is clearly the Sun heraldry of Theoden, while ROK's is a Gondorian tree motif. I'm assuming this one is supposed to be for Elrond, since he has no device created by Tolkien himself, they invented one?
