Hello, I recently won an action on eBay for a U.S. 1st edition of The Shaping of Middle Earth, but the Tolkien symbol that is located on the top of the spine of the book has it's colors weirdly inverted causing it to have a gold box around the purple symbol instead of it being the other way around (gold symbol on purple with no box around it).

I've seen other first edition of this book that don't have this, and the 1st editions I own of some of the other HoME books don't have this either.

Here's a image from google image search for comparison:

So I guess my question is: is this a genuine 1st edition or a later re-release? If it helps, it is a 5th printing though I don't think that should have anything to do with it, nor does it say it is a "Book Club Edition" anywhere on or inside the book. I realize that this probably seems like a very obscure question to be asking, but I thought if anyone might know, it would be here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
