Sometimes I like to daydream. There is so many windows to do such things in JRRT's works. One thing I daydream about when it comes to "Of Túrin Turambar" is what could have been. Even with the curse, Túrin Turambar was capable of doing great deeds and being totally awesome at times. Húrin's brother Huor's son was Tuor. Kind of the Yin Yang version of Túrin. Equally awesome but not cursed obviously. What would Túrin have been if he wasn't cursed? Sometimes I feel that was the real tragedy underneath the obvious..

I see what you mean, they are as the Yin and the Yang. However, I feel it was the Doom of Túrin that made his deeds so great, he did the best he could despite every thread of Fate moving against him. And that his father Húrin, a mortal man, never betrayed his friends in captivity is a wonder, yet all feared him and he was neglected. Yet thus was their fate, and to me it is heroic, a thing the Ainur will ever sing about in the Halls of Eru.
