*bangs on a pot*
C'mon, people! Post here! Take a break from Barley's slew of stuffy threads (love you, Barley ;))! I want feedback! I want discussion!
Don't make me use my Mafia connexions ;)
Re: Vote Ciryaher in 2028?
A president with Mafia connections?! Oh dear, DEFINITELY start building that bunker. ;)
Actually, Ciryaher, I don't know enough about your positions to state definitively whether I'd personally choose to put you in office.
Perhaps you could explain to us your positions and give us a little bit of an idea on where you stand.

I myself am a little tired...and don't feel like reading something really long. but from what I've seen...i haven't seen enough of it to present my final answer to you. :p
Re: Vote Ciryaher in 2028?
WOO-HOO!!! Ciryaher for PREZ!!!
Re: Vote Ciryaher in 2028?
in the year 2028
Ciryaher: Atlast! I am your king.
Gaffer : Well I didn't vote for you.
Ciryaher : You don't vote for kings.
Gaffer : Well how'd you become king then?
[Angelic music plays... ]
Ciryaher : The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Ciryaher, was to carry Excalibur. THAT is why I am your king.
Talierin : [interrupting] Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Re: Vote Ciryaher in 2028?
I think MikeB for president would be much better for the US as Mike seemed to have always been the more level headed of you both. Personallly I think Cir would have been more likely to lead the good citizens of the US into NUC:LEAR or even ANTIMATTER War (ANTIMATTER being the weapon of choice in 2028). Sorry Cir, but you don't get my vote, but then you knew that already and of course I don't have a vote in the US so this really means very little;)
Re: Vote Ciryaher in 2028?
Of course of course..however, you must speak correctly and with perfect grammer at all times, or else I shall use my Mafia connections...and trust me, they are far more extensive than yours. :D
Re: Vote Ciryaher in 2028?
Shh, Anc! Considering our electoral college at the time only had three votes, and he got two of them, it was a bit biased........though you're probably right ;)
Ok, well here are some places where I stand.
1) Immigration in regards to Mexico
The border would be militarized under my leadership, with Reserve and Active-Duty personnel being stationed along the border to not only inspect cargo and personal transportation, but also to patrol the physical border and ensure that persons do not walk across. Ground-penetrating radar would be employed to seek out underground tunnels used to smuggle humans (and other things) across the border.
2) Medicine and Welfare
I am against socialized medicine, and would instead require that all employers provide their workers with these benefits while at the same time lowering taxes so that these employers wouldn't be paying any more than they do normally. Welfare would be completely dismantled and replaced with a Public Works program. Socialized medicine and monetary handouts inspire people to apathy and laziness. People will be better suited to a career of honest work if they are encouraged to actually work, rather than receive a handout for sitting on their posterior ends. I would encourage these policies on a federal level and enact/enforce them at the state level.
3) Foreign Policy
Near-total isolationism. We only get involved in another country if the UN requests it, and in such a case the troops/aid would be under UN jurisdiction. In all other cases, we don't get involved unless we're invaded. Step on our soil, and you're in our place, and if you cause any trouble, you'll regret it.
4) Trade
All trade with China will be severed. Embargo on Cuba will be lifted. Trade will be encouraged with the Americas, Japan, India, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe (everywhere but China, if you get the picture). China and its oxymoronic "Communist" government will be strangled into submission. At our current position, China is gaining so much power and profit through trade that not only are they going to be in a position to harm other Pacific Rim nations (I.E. Taiwan) but it is almost impossible to buy products made with quality and precision these days. When American flags are being made in China, there is a serious problem.
5) War on Terror
Related to the Foreign Policy. America becomes a fortress. We gather intelligence and hand it over to the UN. If they choose to act militarily, then so be it. The only exception to this isolationism will be the increase of special forces used outside the country, when they are needed.
6) Agriculture
Agriculture in the US will be encouraged by diplomatic (via UN) efforts to open up the markets in Asia and Africa. This will be accomplished by making shipping the grains and other products more efficient and by increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of distribution.
7) States' Rights
Since individual states know better the needs of their own constituents, they should have more control over what goes on there. Excepting foreign relations, national defense, and Constitutional authority, all aspects of governing should be in the hands of the states. This will ensure that Californians get what Californians need, and Texans will get what Texans need and so on. Currently the Federal government has too much power and they are creating laws that do not make sense in certain states. The Federal government, under my plan, would only ensure that the Constitution is followed, that foreign governments and organizations are met with diplomatically, and to ensure the defense of the nation.
----------
That's the most prominent set of things in my mind. If you have a question, ask it, and I'll let you know where I stand on that issue.
Re: Vote Ciryaher in 2028?
Hell yeah I'd vote for you dude!
What about tax breaks for immigrants? What would you do about that? You know they get all kinds of goodies/benefits for moving to America...and I feel cheated!
What about the environment, the Kyoto Accord? Are clean air emissions tests done on automobiles in your state? What about oil drilling in Alaska, what about pollution and landfills?
What about drugs?
What about education?
What about Israel?
What about nuclear weapons in N. Korea?
Re: Vote Ciryaher in 2028?
One more thing...what is your stance on affirmative action? Do you disapprove or approve?
-->I edited my first post in this thread (too excited) :o

Anyone in the US illegally will be deported. Here is my planned law for immigration:
Quote:
The Immigrant Act
Section A
Article I - All persons not in possession of citizenship in the United States, or those who do not possess governmental permission in the form of a Residence Permit shall henceforth be referred to as "Illegal Immigrants"
Article II - All persons classified as Illegal Immigrants shall report immediately, or within 10 days of entering the US with intent to become a resident/citizen, to be registered for their Resident-Requisite status
Article III - This status shall keep a record of the immigrant's name, age, sex, place of birth, educational background, and shall include immediate innoculation against those diseases that require innoculation within the US.
Article IV - Resident-Requisite status shall be granted to all persons who comply with the abovementioned report to government authorities of the Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization. Persons who refuse to report or do not report within 10 days of their arrival shall be subject to immediate deportation.
Article V - All persons of Resident-Requisite status must be employed full-time, or enrolled in a place of learning and employed part-time within 30 days of receiving their Resident-Requisite status. Persons who do not acquire employment shall be subject to immediate deportation.
Article VI - Resident-Requisite status holders and/or their dependents shall be eligible for free child/senior healthcare. Resident-Requisite status holders are required to pay all applicable taxes, such as income, property, and sales taxes. Resident-Requisite status mandates that the holder and dependents work at the minimum wage set for all workers in the Republic.
Section B
Article I - All persons who hold steady employment and/or scholastic enrollment with satisfactory report from their employer and/or place of education for a period of two (2) years shall receive Permanent Resident status.
Article II - Permanent Resident status entitles the holder to the same benifits as a Resident-Requisite status. Permanent residents may only be deported under certain criminal circumstances (minor felonies, cumulative misdemeanors).
Section C
Article I - Permanent Resident status holders shall be eligible after 4 years of Permanent Resident status with good conduct (no felonies, limited misdemeanors) for Full Citizenship.
Article II - Before Citizenship may be granted, applicants must first successfully demonstrate their understanding of rights and responsibilities by passing a test. Finally, applicants must swear alliegiance to the US and to uphold its ideals, standards, and freedom.
Article III - Citizens may not be deported, but shall be subject to the full extent of US law and punishment. Citizens may vote and hold public office, except that of President (reserved for those born within the US).

Oil consumption will be reduced by a heavy tax on it and products that use it while alternative energy sources will receive tax reductions. Funding will be spent on research into efficient microwave energy transmission for space-based solar arrays, safer fission, and nuclear fusion as well as other renewable and clean energey sources. Industries that meet EPA standards will receive a tax credit. Those that exceed EPA standards will be given an even bigger tax credit. This allows them to cover the cost of building the neccessary equipment. Recycling will be very much encouraged, possibly with a tax credit.
Possible legalization of marijuana and other all-natural drugs for adults. Ban on man-made drugs will remain, with heavier penalties for those who distribute and manufacture them.
Quote:
What about education?
Support for public education. Ensurement that public schools have plenty of funding for neccessary programs.
Quote:
What about Israel?
Friend and ally, but a vicious one that must be chastised for violations of human rights against Palestinians. Support for the creation of a Palestinian state.
Quote:
What about nuclear weapons in N. Korea?
With China being crippled by a loss of all trade from the US, it will be unable to protect its little, annoying sibling. South Korea and Japan will determine what action they believe is most neccessary, and the US will back them for a UN effort to resolve the situation through any means neccessary.
Quote:
One more thing...what is your stance on affirmative action? Do you disapprove or approve?
Affirmative action is a catalyst of racial prejudice and hatred. All students, employees, and potentials should be treated equally, and no race, religion, sex, creed, sexual orientation or creed should have any effect on a person's being hired or accepted at a school.
