    On the Maiar

Just completed reading 'The Song of Middle-Earth' David Harvey, the author brings up two points which struck me, and as you can see I'm bragging about it here. On creating the dragons did Morgoth invite the spirits of the Maiar to inhabit these, for they ended up being stronger than Balrogs and...

Frodo’s alleged use of the ring

Tom Bombadil's forgetfulness, and the fact that the ring had no hold on his mind, unlike the ring's effect on Sauron, Gandalf and Saruman indicates clearly that he is no Maia, nor Valar, elf or man, neither dwarf.

    The Orcs

Regarding a possible manufactured night ( during day time) in preparation for the battle: "Suddenly a darkness came on with dreadful swiftness. A dark cloud hurried over the sky." Pg 400 same book.

    The Orcs

Pg 401 Gandalf "...the goblins are upon you. Bolg of the North is coming, whose father you slew in Moria." PJs movie keeps Azog alive all the way.

    The Orcs

As regards to the size on page 85 "11. The goblin-chief is referred to in lower case; variously as 'the big goblin', 'the great goblin x" which evolves into a proper name Great Goblin and King this goblin was indeed large in PJs movie.'

    The Orcs

In A Brief History Of The Hobbit John Rateliff sheds some light on this. It might not be PJs fault after all, JRR might not have developed the orc culture well enough on finishing The Hobbit

    The Orcs

He did say though that in the future there would be many who would complete or actually continue his work using different media. I read it though I must supply the exact source.

    The Orcs

Azog is a well conceived orc though both his size and the fact that his armies fight during the day remove somewhat the mystery from the future Uruk hai, doesnt he?

    Lonely Mountain -A Pentagram ?

I just found this quote, Unfinished Tales, A Description Of The Island Of Numenor ... pg 165... The land of Numenor resembled in outline a five-pointed star, or pentangle..." there he likens the island to a pentangle and not a pentagram, for me this proves all that i have said and its a good...

Excluding a few... any...

Could we make a version of the Silmarills today?

I must apologize for my sentences, english is one of the two official languages of my country, and i spend much more time speaking and reasoning in the national language which has different grammatical rules. We actually have a unique language unlike others, or unlike some others...

Could we make a version of the Silmarills today?

OK I think that this is a very good explanation on your part and we have moved from the philosophical to the actual material make up of two worlds, Tolkiens MiddleEarth and our own. I understand that Tolkien built his Middle Earth also as an inspiration of our own. Christian writings also point...
