Three years ago I went to the Lauterbrunnen valley in Switzerland, which is the place that inspired Tolkien to describing Imladris.

I imagined how it would look without all the tourists and exclusion zones. If you can look beyond that, it really is a breathtaking and magical place. There are small waterfalls along the whole valley and especially in the morning the mountains were quite misty ;*)

So, this how Imladris looks in the Seventh Age. After all it has all these long years.

Here is a pic of the Morannon... the Black Gates of Mordor, as they appear today.Morannon-01.jpg
Note that in the distance you can see the Beacon of Light that the elves put up on the original site of Barad-Dur, to memorialize and cleanse the realm forever. I didn't find any artifacts but a few old orkish stone spearpoints... it's all been cleaned up and the metal recycled. The years have even worn down the hills.

Here's more of a close-up of the beacon that you can see through the gap in the hills. It's extremely bright... difficult to look straight at it. The area around there has never really regrown... still just sagebrush and scrub. But a few birds have called it home, and I even saw one bighorn sheep.

Wow, stunning photo. It appears to me to be what I would call a ley line. I really feel a lot of morphic resonance (memory in the energy) there. I'm not sure what judgement to make past that. Good work, DĂșnadan.

Do you have GPS coordinates? Or where is it?

The location is southern Nevada, near the ghost town of Gilbert outside of Tonopah in the Monte Cristo range. (four wheel drive recommended) The photo was taken facing due east from NAD83, UTM, 11s 442635 mE x 4429650 mN. The Beacon itself is located at 469100 x 4231840. It's over 200 feet tall and visible from space. It's solar powered and lit up only during the day when the sun is on it. Blindingly bright!
