Yes. UT is one book (a little over 600 pages long) and contains info about events and people who are otherwise only briefly mentioned (eg. Ithryn Luin). The Lost Tales are a part of the History of Middle-Earth, I think, and they contain... something, I don't know; I don't have HoME.

Unfinished Tales v Lost Tales

There is a distinct diffrence between the two. The Lost Tales are Tolkiens first writings on Middle Earth. I think that the format of the telling of tales to the Human Eriol was the original format of the stories that became the Silmarillion. The Unfinished Tales are a collection of stories that could not be fitted into LOR and the Silmarillion.
