Who's read this excellent (word-wise; some of the drawings leave something to be desired) publication which has what I consider to be very good summaries of races and beings as well as time-lines of the äeons throughout Arda?s

I like this book...

...very much. I use it, Atlas of Middle Earth, Tolkein Companion and the Complete Tolkein Guide regularly in my many re-readings of JRRT's work. I particularly like the pictures of Barad-dur and Gondolin though i don't care for any of the black and white drawings.

Would you know if the encyclopedia by the same author is significantly different? In browsing it appears that they are much the same and perhaps not worth buying both. Am I wrong about that?
